Apparently she is actually pregnant in real life, so they thought this was the best way to go. But real wild to think that in 2021 they're rehashing the Dawn Marie/Al/Torrie Wilson storyline (especially considering that Dawn Marie was later fired by WWE while on real-life maternity leave)

 

It’s sad how they treated Becky’s pregnancy compared to what Lacey has to go through LOL

 

Strikes me they had the easy route (announce Lacey's pregnancy and trot out a new #1 contenders match on RAW) and the WWE route (work real life into a story line in a way that reflects thinking that was maybe acceptable 20 years ago), and they picked what they always do

 

When won't Vince go with the "horny old guy gets with beautiful young woman" trope when it's available? Shit, he even found a way to do it with Buddy Murphy

I mean, it makes sense. NXT used to be developmental that grew into its own beast. Meant that some newer people couldn’t get out of it what others in the past did. You only have to look at the main roster to see how the development side of NXT helped most if not all the top guys.

That’s assuming it’ll be a developmental brand, of course.

 

Yeah, dumb name but I guess keeping the original name in it makes sense. Nxt just has too much talent not doing anything or developing right now.

 

So where does it fit in the current WWE brand power rankings?

2. Smackdown
3. NXT
4. 205 Live
5. NXT UK

...Above UK? Below NXT proper? Where does it go?

 

I mean it makes total sense, I just think the name is hilarious.

 

What about NXT India? Is that a thing yet?

 

NXT UK is above 205 Live

This will exist at the same level as 205, or might even replace it

 

205 has pretty much the same guys every week. The Cruiserweight champ is barely on it anymore. It’s just a vehicle for Bollywood Boys, Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari and some old Evolve guys at this point. Makes sense to replace it.

 

NXTUK has some great talent and great matches, but it’s still reeling from the Speaking Out allegations from last year. It’s slowly building itself back up. Getting Ben Carter and Meiko Satomura makes a big difference.

Although it does feel like I’m watching matches from WCPW/Defiant circa 2018 at times haha

 

All I can think about is how most likely the power is going out tonight and I’m going to be freezing cold with no power and food and no ability to watch wrestling

 

Isn't NXT Japan supposed to be happening too?

 

That’s supposed to have been happening for the past two years. I feel that this announcement is a reaction to the fact the Japan branch is not possible at the moment.
