if it aired on Saturday night, I'd probably have watched Takeover yesterday, but it being on Sunday means I don't really have the time to watch it.

Sunday night + no crowd + cold product means I'm catching up on what people said was good, later.

Oh man Chocopro is so much fun.

  4. it's not even AEW - I think the lack of a live crowd is hurting the business - I know I've lost interest in watching live without the crowd

tbh NXT’s booking in conjunction with the main roster booking in the lead up to and after WM 35 turned me off NXT. That coincided with the Saudi shit and I dropped anything WWE with that. After speaking out and then continuing to employ such horrible people I won’t be spending money to watch it again.

But yeah crowdless wrestling sucks big time. Imagine Kenta coming out to a huge pop last week.

The crowd thing isn't too much of a dealbreaker for me, it's just that I just prefer to watch AEW over NXT right now. For some reason, I can't find the desire to DVR and watch NXT later that night or the next day, I do try to keep up with what's going on though.

Yeah, i'll admit that the lack of live crowds has hindered my watching habits. I sometimes go for 2 or 3 weeks without watching NXT and then have a catch up over a weekend. I have a feeling that i'd definitely be more likely to watch AEW if there were full crowds too. The two hours of crowdless wrestling a week is all I can take at the moment haha

If it doesn’t end with KOR winning in a triple threat Mania weekend, I’ll eat my hat.

I think if they could somehow change NXT’s set or production it would help a little. Something about the way AEW is shot is so much nicer. NXT just feels smaller. Maybe lose the digital fans and just keep the live fans they actually have. Change up the lighting or something. They are actually trying different things with their booking and the show is still good to me at least.

What I did give up on is Dark. I’d like to try to get back into it but where I left off some episodes are like two hours long and mostly squash matches. After a while that gets tiring even though it’s funny on commentary and mostly fun matches.

I stopped watching Dark after a month or so. Two hours of wrestling is nearly too much wrestling for me a week in general outside of G1/N1 season.

I do want to watch more wrestling though. Dragon Gate and TJPW seem pretty good at the moment.

If this somehow leads to Tony Deppen wrestling on Dynamite, I'm here for it

Wait, don’t they work for ROH? So it’ll be AEW, New Japan, Impact and ROH all working together?? That’s would be enough to get me to watch more than 2 hours a week haha

nxt's just not been as interesting to me as it had been. losing the crowd definitely hampered things, so did losing mauro. just feels like it's lost a lot of what made it great, which was a place where talent was in their ascendency; where the crowd could create new stars and catapult them. that element is gone. the current champion is a retread, someone who's only there cause he couldn't get over on the main roster and is only holding the belt because kross got hurt. the north american champion has been there a long time and is not a fresh face. the tag team division is not what it once was, as evidenced by the last few teams to hold the titles. the women's division, which has probably long been the best in the company, has gotten kinda stale with io's long reign and no real compelling rivalries. the show is still better than raw or smackdown, but the lines are slowly blurring.

I think the crowd at full sail love them or hate them had a bigger impact and were more important to the show than any other wrestling show. As stupid as it is, the manufactured imaginary AEW / NXT feud took a lot of luster out of it as well. It didn’t need an extra hour or to be on USA proper. Plus with less call ups there’s less room for new faces, etc. Kinda a perfect storm to lose some shine. I do think it’s still good and Vengeance was fucking great start to finish.
