Dynamite was rly good this week

 

Turns out having 4 matches* where you just let dudes go out and have a good match works out.

(Also, I love the MJF/Jericho bit.)

man, did we cover alot: draft fallout, retribution, g1 climax, hell i a cell, halloween havoc, and dynamite. AAAND we added a new match to our match of the year list. hope you guys enjoy it.

current 2020 match of the year ballot:

- omega v pac: 30 minute ironman mach from aew dynamite
- elite v inner circle: stadium stampede from aew double or nothing
- riddle v thatcher: fight pit from nxt tv
- cole v mcafee from nxt takeover xxx
- naito v sanada from njpw g1 climax 30

 

Cole vs McAfee is a match I didn't expect to see on a match of the year ballot. It wasn't bad, just unexpected is all lol

 

it was unexpected, for sure. but it was entertaining. great heel work by mcafee, and for a 'debut' match, an outsider of wrestling performing as good as he did makes it worthy of a nomination. and of course, cole being cole.

of course, with the competition being as strong as it it, it might be voted as last in the list, but last on a moty list is still noteworthy.

 

I feel like if the match has to be graded on a curve of "it was a great match for a non wrestler" it shouldn't be up for MOTY consideration. In my opinion at least.

 

i'm sure we'll go into detail when we do our end of the year episode on how this match ended up on our list. we get together before recording and rewatch all the matches again.

 

I can't wait for this shitshow of a year to end and ring in the shitshow that 2021 is going to be.

Gutted for Fenix. But either one of them against Kenny is bonkers.

Being someone who got to see Penta/Omega live at All In, I am very much excited for another bout.
