Haven’t got there yet but if that’s the case, isn’t that twice already this year?

  2. there is also no way any orton match should be longer than 15 minutes

Why the hell don’t they let these two tag teams wrestle

I’m liking this main event so far. The added crowd noise is really working.

Yeah. This wasn’t the slog of their other match but I could not get into the final 20 minutes. 45 min ring work clinics work for me if it’s not, like, these two trying to do it.

They delivered for me. They actually pulled it off. I mean not the greatest but personally I’d give this over 4 stars. And they did it without weapons and interference and overbooking. Was this Ortons greatest match? I’ve never been down on Orton as much as some but I also could never really remember a great match of his. This would be it for me

There's also something to an Okada/Omega where 60 minutes works because a crowd can carry it.

If anyone was gonna pull off the overly long technical match, it was gonna be Gargano/Ciampa, and that was so painful without a crowd that its the last wrestling Ive really watched since. After the trainwreck that was Edge/Randy the first time, not sure you could convince me to watch ANOTHER 40+ minute match

So the injury happened after they finished the match initially and they did some retakes, on the retakes he got hurt hence not seeing the bruised tricep until the end. Meltz daddy says his sources think it's from one of the RKO reversals when edge came from the top rope.

I mean I guess you just assume there would be retakes but it's kinda funny how they finished the match and then went back to retape certain spots.

kinda sucks there were retakes at all. super sucks thats how he got hurt.

i loved the match though. it felt like they wanted to work the opposite of an NXT main event which on paper is cringe but in execution i think they made a very sound case. the whole thing felt like an experiment. commentary was dramatically more sports broadcast than anything else, strikes seemed to have a lil extra mustard, holds like the crossface looked tighter than normal. a lot of the reversals were cool because they made sense contextually. i liked the cat and mouse stuff a lot. i loved Orton always being ready for Edge attempting something off the top. i dont think it could have been much better. i think people saying it needed to be shorter forget rest holds are called rest holds for a reason - strip them away and the guys lose steam and as a result we lose portions of the meat of the match. a shorter match wouldn't have just been all the good stuff, it would have just been less stuff.

I don’t think it needed to be shorter because there were too many rest holds I just think it needed to be shorter period. Keep the rest holds, cut about 15 mins out of that match and I would’ve thought it was great.

I really liked the match as well. Certain points felt a little over-choreographed but it's really hard trying to do what they did in this time with no crowds. Retakes suck though - I kinda suspected there were some of those happening.

I don’t mind retakes right now because it’s not like it’s really in front a crowd. Just people that are paid to be there. And the match was taped anyway and not an actual live segment at that. So might as well make it as good as possible.

    Big spoilers for tonight's RAW:

Christian is on it and does something physical. I'd assume he's just taking an RKO

i hadn't listened to Graves' pod since the first month it came out but randomly listened to the Orton ep last week - it closed with Graves saying he had no idea that AJ was serious about the flat earth stuff and thought it was a rib. Orton clarified that it wasn't, that he gives AJ shit for it all the time, and encouraged Graves to give him shit for it next time he sees him too lol
