I’m not saying this coronavirus stuff isn’t serious, but I just want to know why this everyone is shutting everything down for this pandemic but not the previous ones...

Because they aren’t ready for this and don’t know how to handle it

The infectiousness of it and how long it takes to show symptoms make it more likely to spread quickly and undetected.

Well our health care system will isn’t in the best shape to take on a mass breakout of it and our country has a low number of testing kits available.

  8. the underlying issue to that as well is that because of the lack of hospital beds in this country people will die from other accidents/issues cuz the hospitals will be stuffed with people with this virus.

This is worse in terms of infectivity. Ebola for example has nothing on this because people die of Ebola before it could spread. Coronaviruses spread really easily and don't kill off all hosts before spreading it again. Add that to the much higher mortality rate than the flu and it could be quite bad for older people.

Man, I’ve never been a big fan of Baszler, but I loved how they booked her at EC. The best way to book a credible challenger is to make them look dominant and she’s looking that right now, that’s for sure. The only thing I didn’t like was long gaps between competitors being released from their pods. Too much down time. Other than that, it was great.

Some of y’all are so hard to please.

Yep. The Spanish Flu that killed so many people only had a death rate of 2-3%; but a 1/3rd of the world got it (in part because of WWI), and so tens of millions died. A bunch of it is a numbers game where if you can limit the spread to retirement homes/older populations, you save a lot of lives.

I will say that Becky's promo on RAW has me hooked for the showdown between the two of them. And the way they spliced together the neck biting thing and her EC eliminations looked cool for a video promo set-up.

She still needs to hit a few squashes heading into WM so people have a sense of her ring-work. Its why I think a longer showdown with Asuka (who was credibly built as a threat to Becky, and who Becky needed nearly 20 minutes to beat) would have been a better move. They could have gone 10 minutes as essentially fresh competitors and Shayna still would have looked impressive

Watched Beyond the Mat on Netflix which brought me to watch The Resurrection of Jake The Snake and god damn I am even happier for Jakes promo on AEW last week, absolutely incredible.

Lol nia remembere how much she was booked, right? She doesn’t need a horsewoman stable to get booked with no talent cause that’s been her entire main roster career.

Thanks for the disease lessons everyone. My wife is nurse and she doesn’t seem so worried about it so I guess it’s rubbing off? And we live in a city that’s hosting the quarantined people from the cruise ship. And they let one out that turned out to test positive after

  19. Coachella just got postponed - no way there is a WrestleMania in April

Yeah, the reality of anyone who's healthy and younger than like 50 is that its functionally the flu.

And I dont necessarily think more local events are a bad idea (a TV taping, etc), though cancelling them is the safe play. But hosting nationwide/international drawing events like Coachella, SXSW, WM, March Madness, etc is encouraging a wider spread than necessary. If one person at WM tests positive for Coronavirus, suddenly you have to try and track 60k+ people. See: CPAC and some of the fallout from that with congressmen quarantining.

My wife works for UMaryland, and they are shutting down for two weeks and moving all online though mid-April.

So 321 battle is completely imploding as a promotion because the head guy in charge of it allegedly got accused of sexual assault and a bunch of other people involved in the leadership allegedly helped cover it up and even though there is a group of good people who wanna step up and take over and save it apparently the old guard isn't letting them :tear:

just really devastated. they were a incredibly fun experience that understood everything that is right about wresting :brokenheart:
