But it's a main event caliber match. The woman who obliterated NXT taking on champ for a year Becky. I think the hype is what makes the match matter or interesting. The work rate for the match isn't what's gonna drive that match.

 

Shes probably the only person on the wwe roster I still care about. I truly think shes the greatest of all time and am so happy that shes getting this run as one of the faces of the entire company

 

it's not a mania caliber match - Shayna is the Bobby Roode of the NXT women's champions. Shayna is a terrible promo and a average at best worker. it's going to be a slog of a match that the crowd will turn on.

the women's EC match was one of the worst of all time. every women looked like a geek they didn't advance any secondary story lines and Shayna just goofily stalked the ring in between eliminations. it was terrible through and through.

 

I mean her current booking has her as a cocky asshole type of face who deserves some comeuppance but yeah she's become unbearable for me too - basically how Seth went from super over to unbearable over the course of 2019.

And to be honest. Other than asuka... idc if she made the riot squad and natalya look like geeks.

It's mainly her acting. It's not necessarily bad....it's just a bad character with the same over-exaggerated facial expressions over and over again.

 

Going back and watching and holy fuck to that ‘rana by Metalik. And Otis is over as fuck.

On Becky: I called it last Mania that the man persona would wear thin! Y’all didn’t believe me!

I also asked the question as to should we care about raw after mania and answered myself about the international crowd.

It lasted a lot longer than I expected, especially with some really subpar opponents (Lacey + Natalya). Its going stronger than Bayleys heel gimmick or Rollins' Monday Night Messiah.

But we're gonna be back exactly where we were after Ronda's reign with that EC match. The Riott Squad (which had legitimacy) got killed by Ronda, and Ruby, who would have been a perfect follow-up RAW feud for Becky, had no juice. So we got Lacey...which only strained Becky by making her carry that damn feud. They'll be able to reshuffle rosters and have some returning people, but, again, Ruby would have been the perfect post-Shayna feud if Shayna lost at WM.

 

I don't think there's anything wrong with Becky's character and yes she's still very over. The problem, as always, is just the booking. She needed to not go undefeated for a year, and there were several opportunities to have her drop the title. Now we're in a situation where neither outcome is really that appealing.

Rewatched the women’s EC match and that was definitely one of the most boring main events ever - also they spent the last few weeks building this riot squad show down only for Sarah Logan and Ruby Riot to be eliminated in 60 seconds before liv got in lol

 

The Man character is also similar to the Stone Cold character in that it's at its best when going up against the "establishment." Since the Mania win, Becky's best, most nuanced work was easily the build-up to the Asuka match when she tied in how the powers that be were now trying to protect and preserve her

the thing i liked about the Sami win was a group of heels actually operating as friends. it wasnt like Sami stole the win from Nakamura or something, they were happy to see him win it and set him up for it.
