It's really hard to get invested in a No DQ match like this that is relying more on telling a story than just being an insane spotfest when the overarching story involves another, absent wrestler who has no affiliation with Aleister Black at all.

The short version is he usually hits more with the toe end versus the heel, so its a very big slap. And you spread it out as you take the bump (and Black pulls it). But, I'd say 50% of that is just not gimmicked and when it hits, it hits. He'll often miss by a bit on TV matches

 

Yeah, that slowmo looked even more brutal. The other wrestler is literally trying to measure how close to get, especially if you’re turning into it. Ouch.

Yeah, the gimmick is how much the opponent wants to die. Helps that AJ sold it instantly like death, but, he's gonna be feeling that tomorrow
