Star ratings on Full Gear is incredible. What a show, I need to rewatch because I really was not able to enjoy the main event like I should have. I was so jacked up from all the other amazing matches it honestly like diluted that main event quality haha.

 

Meltzer on Kenny:

“He’s got a lot of different issues - knee, shoulder, abdominal hernia - that he’s been working through. There’s others, too. So, he’ll be getting multiple surgeries, most likely, and everything is kind of to be determined. I guess the idea is to try to get as many of these things taken care of at the same time, but that’s a lot of body parts to rehab at the same time. I’m not sure when it’s all going to go down. I don’t have confirmed whether he’s doing the AAA show on December the 4th or not...he’s done with AEW most likely for a while until everything heals up. There’s no target date. I think he’s hoping February, maybe, but that’s probably premature because they haven’t done the surgeries yet.”

 

MJF and Darby was a better match than the Bucks one. Meltz just inflating his buddies' egos.

 

I agree Hank, idk why Meltzdaddy is throwing Feb out there, with all the work and surgeries he needs done I figure it would be longer than that.

 

MJF/Darby was the best match of the show for me.

I can say with 95% certainty that the conversation surrounding the release of Hit Row probably went something like this: "But we have the Street Profits!"

 

Darby/MJF is one of those weird matches that the I built up a certain expectation for after reading comments on the internet berfore watching. It was good, but didn't have the emotional relevance of Page/Omega for me.

 

I think the biggest element for the huge reaction to it is how unexpectedly great it was. Watching it after hearing the buzz completely removes that element.

 

I get that. I guess I should have said it was the most enjoyable match? Taking out the context around the matches I thought MJF/Darby was better. But with the Hangman story, and Kenny’s heel run I was much more invested in that match and the outcome.

Omega/Okada really changed the entire landscape of the Star ratings.

 

I'm surprised that the biggest talks within this thread about the recent batch of releases wasn't the fact that Nick Miller 's former tag team partner, Shane Thorne was released!

 

I picture Kenny just gaming hard af the next 3 months.

 

kenny is so deeply involved in the aew game that i hope he gets to only focus on that for a while

 

most of my minor criticisms of full gear were obliterated by rewatching it. every match a banger. there still should've been more than one women's match, and i do not understand the end of the lucha bros/ftr match (but, as usual, i appreciate that aew is rolling with its bizarreness)

 

i also love that almost every match had at least one ring apron bump, if not two

 

i hope whatever AEW ppv that baker/rosa for the womens title is on, those women are the main event match.
