and i still agree with that statement.
but in wrestling, sometimes you need just a bit of context.
15 seconds to explain a 'negative' and turn it into a positive.
hangman's promo on dynamite weeks ago, where he said 'cowboy shit is leaving the ring at the height of my popularity to be there for the birth of my son', was enough for me.
turned what i as a fan perceived as a negative and i was back on the hype train for his match.

opinions can change. the sign of either great wrestlers, or great long term booking.

it did.

the story leading up to all out was still hangman as number one contender in the rankings. so with... 3 weeks to go before all out, hangman lost, disappeared from programming, and we got christian cage in the main event (their wrestlemania). as a viewer, there was a disconnect.

the negative i had was acknowledged, he spun it into a positive, and that settled that. him being the mystery entrant in the ladder match, and the rest of said cowboy shit promo helped alot too.

The one thing id like aew do more is weaving certain sudden disappearances into the storylines: the cooperation with Impact is over for now, ok, but u could at least explain the good brothers' sudden disappearance after they been on dynamite for so many months. Or where is Shannah?

Shit i just googled it. That flew completly over my head...quick non-native speaker question: when something flies over your head. Do you only say that when you did not understand a joke or also, as in my case, when u completly missed a piece of news?

 

Usually it’s used when you don’t understand something. Like in your example of a joke, but it could also be an explanation or definition. I’ve never really heard it used in the context of missing news though.

 

I mean, I thought this too...they had built up so much momentum with him that having him lose that match and disappear felt like a full stop. Especially with Punk and D-Bry being signed...I was worried he was gonna get moved down the card and not get the story line payoff.

Not surprised that he was still over as hell upon returning, but, clearly years of WWE conditioning mean that I expected once a guys push stalls out, he takes years to recover

It's crazy..as time passes and my time living in the US gets more and more in the past, the more i start to have these questions on English again. Like, i remember the first morning in LA that i woke up and realized i had dreamed in english. I was so proud. And now i have to ask questions on certain idioms again. Next thing you know i'll go completly German again and will forget how to pronounce the "th"
