Even though Khan comes from a ridiculous amount of money so in a “way” AEW has the “unlimited” funds, at some point you can’t just keep adding salaries just because people are available.

Maybe for AEW the bigger restriction is time for people on the roster to be showcased and idk how many on the roster would be considered “expendable” but seriously with all these cuts it seems like even adding another 2-3 wrestlers would really make it seem like another AEW show would be needed to utilize all these people.

if anything hopefully those who have been released can join other promotions and help build them up so there are several great products out there.

So bummed for all these people. Budget cuts is a bullshit reason.

Nia was released mostly for being unvaccinated. I don’t feel bad for her one bit.

Colten and Austin Gunn are wrestling regularly. QT Marshall is a prominent mid-card heel. John Silver got cable tv time by saying the word “budge” on a youtube show.

The idea that there isn’t enough space on the card to add people is insanity. Like half of Dark and Elevation are indie talent. AEW has more than enough room to bring in another half dozen people released from WWE.

This could stop happening if the top talent simply tells vince they won’t come to work

Maybe it’s just the podcasts I listen to are affiliated with them, but MLW seems to be picking up more and more steam

I read and hear a ton about MLW out of the ring, but never anything about their in ring stuff. It’s odd.

There will come a point where Tony and AEW are going to have to make their own cuts. If not from a business standpoint, then from a purely roster management/creative standpoint. Will be interesting to see what the reaction to that will be, but in my mind, Keith Lee is an absolute must-sign talent. As are folks like KO, Sami, KOR, Liv Morgan, if the rumors are true and they’re looking to leave at the end of their contracts. Smart business dictates you gotta have a salary cap at some point for yourself, and if it comes down to signing some of those names or keeping the bajillion members of the Dark Order, the answer is sorta obvious

It's ridiculous that Liv Morgan hasn't won the women's title yet

Would love to see Liv reunited with Ruby. They’re insanely close outside of the ring, and I always really liked their chemistry, even though they were saddled with awful storylines. And Liv’s commitment to constantly getting better in the ring, when the company she has worked for has given her absolutely zero reason to want to put in any extra work, really speaks to her character. Love the idea of them as comrades in AEW who can also team up when they need a refresh from their own singles runs

At this point though, what company wants to buy them without 80% of their talent? I get a bunch of the moves from a trim the fat side of things...but, Aleister, Keith lee, Bray, Braun, the list is just full of people you can build around that they've cut. And they're gonna lose KO, Sami, the entirety of Undistputed Era...and the womens division has NOTHING left

Mia Yim and Ember Moon are gonna be great in AEW.

Scarlett/Cross and Taya probably go to Impact.

    Honestly, yeah, that makes sense.

Doubly weird of WWE to release so many women when WoW is now a thing

This is where AEW having guys work indies whenever they want is to key. Joey Janela might as well not be signed to AEW, but they dont have to cut him like WWE would. The entire Dark roster is basically that way too...guys can work Defy, PWG, etc and its not a big deal

Unless the big wigs potentially buying WWE are marks, all they see is a well-oiled, massive profit machine.

I wonder what John Morrison thinks. Mia & Keith released, Kross & Scarlett released. Taya released
