He was always my favorite in WWE, and it was clear for a while that it was just the way he was written that he felt "goofy" instead of edgy. He'll never be a top 5 worker in any company, but he's got a complete storytelling style that just works so damn well. Never purely a face, never purely a heel, just always working in the shades of grey on each side.

 

His book is going to be so fascinating. He mentioned in the interview that WWE wanted him to write a book and they have this process where a ghostwriter follows you around for a week and just gets tons of history and stories and makes a book.

Mox said he went to Danielson at the time to ask about his WWE released book (which was a really fuckin good book tbh) and Danielson said he regretted doing it that way and that was all Mox had to here for him to turn it down.

This book is just straight up him with no filter, it's also not just some structured autobiography which is great because I honestly don't need to read 60 pages about anyones childhood and teenage years. It's just a bunch of stories about his career and personal life.

 

i've been seeing this weird narrative on twitter and reddit that danielson wasn't one of the best wrestlers in the world while in wwe and now that he's been unleashed he's finally able to have great matches. he's able to do the stuff we want to see out of him now, but i think its insane to say he wasn't at the top during his wwe run. i think he's just on a run right now thats cementing his place at or near the very top of all time

 

I think I agree with that narrative Danny boy. He was definitely among the top in WWE during his run but because of the style he had to conform to he just couldn't compare to the top workers outside of WWE who could more or less do whatever they wanted or at least had a much looser leash around them.

 

but he was consistently compared to the performers outside of wwe for his entire tenure. i agree he has a much looser leash but some of the best matches of his career happened in wwe. we aren't here talking about him being one of the all time greats without his time there. he was already in the discussion

 

Yeah, his run leading up to WM 30 is something 99.99% of wrestlers could never pull off so that kinda qualifies you for best in the world conversation.

 

The best thing with Danielson so far has been

a. he wrestles a different style almost every week

b. hes using different finishers very often

 

What we can all agree on is that Tony needs to do something about Bryan’s music because it’s fucking atrocious. One of the worst in all of aew

 

Agreed, the only thing that makes his debut better is if motherfucking Final Countdown interrupted Kenny at All Out

 

Bryan chose the song, he’s friends with the guy who made it. I doubt anyone’s going to say anything lol

 

I love that Moxley seems to live the gimmick when he's at work. Imagine ripping this off with Daniel Bryan standing right there

 

God damn Kingston v Danielson was great

And Kingston rolling up on Punk after that match was so, so good. "Do you want to go to sleep again?"

 

Main event was great too...roll up finish for a hardcore match is a nice heel ending

Only thing I'd change is obviously getting rid of Jericho.

 

I actually like Bryan’s music lol, as the guy that dislikes the early AEW unlicensed music. And he was definitely among the best in the world while in WWE.

Also, I just stepped off of a 4 day Disney Cruise and who did I run into last night but none other than Kevin Owens. Didn’t want to bother him because even though he wasn’t with his family at the moment, he’s obviously on vacation. I guess he must not have been recognized much the whole trip because he had this look of “oh shit this guy knows who I am” when my eyes lit up as I saw him. Funny thing was that I wouldn’t have even given him a second glance if it wasn’t for the Sami Zayn shirt he was wearing

 

I can't believe they willingly made a song that needs to be censored.

Also Final Countdown is apparently like, $100k/episode or something ridiculously expensive because they don't want it to be used so much

 

finally got around to watching rampage this morning. their best episode yet, every match a banger

 

Now give Boston a PPV

Would there ever be a more satisfying firing than Kevin Dunn’s? And I’m not one to enjoy someone losing a job but come on.

 

Lol vince would never, he would just be on leave until he was able to retire or something
