  1. WWE is toast - it’ll only ever pull big ratings around Mania season and that’s it

Man I like the AEW product but watching their fans on twitter try and celebrate getting 550k viewers for a live show further cements the fact that a portion of their fanbase is the most obnoxious fanbase in wrestling.

About the only thing propping up the WWE right now is the Saudi blood money shows and the fact they are currently on FOX.

They are so, so fucked when the 2023/2024 deals come due

Smackdown still pulls good ratings on Fox. Maybe not quite what Fox wanted, but probably enough to get a decent deal out of it.

They just apparently need a better solution than FS1 when Fox isn't available. Definitely an own goal there.

If I never hear about demo ratings again, I'll die a happy man

Clucky, everyone who regularly tweets/uses twitter is obnoxious.

The last portion of the WON ALWAYS has demo breakdowns, for decades it has. I don't know who the fuck really wants to read that bullshit in-depth.

True but the whole "celebrating another wrestling promotion doing poorly" level of obnoxious is definitely takes the cake for me.

at least the annoying WWE fans who tweet everything like kayfabe never died are at least humorus in their delusion

Not to mention, Nielsen ratings are wildly unreliable. It’s just that they’re the only game in town and networks for years have decided to just assume they’re the end all, be all. For those who don’t actually know how this stuff is even tallied:

I would say the same. It topped their first one, and that one was, IMO, the best Rampage match so far next to Christian/Omega.

  18. WWE thought it could beat AEW with the extra half hour and they got punked and it’s glorious

It would be interesting if WWE closed up shop at the end of the month (or something like that) how many guys would go to AEW / how many guys would they go after and what would happen. Like, if AEW could get Roman / Balor / Rollins / Big E what would they do with them? Would they use them the same way WWE does, would Roman be made champion?

  20. AEW doesn’t need Roman Reigns

I don’t even get what the point of beating Rampage is. It’s far more embarrassing for WWE that they tried/failed than it would have been for AEW to lose to Smackdown.

  22. they’d want all of them immediately and figure out the rest later.

new japan would also want them.

AEW doesn't have the space for all of them.

Impact would probably benefit the most. But even then, it would mean a lot more people (either the WWE folks who can't find another gig or the Impact/AEW folks the WWE folks replace or the indie workers who also can't get a gig because instead the promo brought on another ex-WWE person) out of a job.

WWE changing how it operates to put on a better product is good for wrestling.

WWE failing and everybody losing their jobs because of it is bad for wrestling.
