Honestly, might be a move to prop up RAWs ratings against MNF as much as they can. I dont think they can take several weeks of <1.5mil fans and losing to AEW in the demo every week

 

They split up Shotzi and Tegan. There is no women's tag division lol

 

Natalya & Tamina as well. Literally the only established team on the main roster is Rhea & Nikki... and they’ve been a team for a month?

A secondary singles title to the two primary belts on Raw and SD would have been better served for the women. Personally, I think I would have revived the Cruiserweight championship as a women's title, given the history of women who won it (Jacqueline, Madusa, etc.). The members of the roster currently vying for the Cruiserweight belt would be better served in the North American title picture on NXT, or the Intercontinental/US titles on the main roster, imo. Or bring back the European championship as a mid-card singles belt for the women, though I don't think there was ever any woman who won that (Chyna had the IC belt, if I'm remembering correctly).

 

Especially for a company that hates tag team wrestling.

A traveling belt beyond the two main titles probably would have worked; would have given Carmella/Liv Morgan/Toni Storm/etc something to do while waiting for the top card stuff to work itself out.

 

I figure it's gotta be that or the official announcement for the GCW streaming service which Brett Tweeted + Deleted a logo of a bit back.

100% Also, creates a bit of separation from the NXT women's title to the two primary belts for call-ups. There's zero avenue to get a NXT call-up over right now unless they're hotshotted into the title picture and remain there for a significant amount of time, and if they're not ready to take the belt off one of the mainstays of the roster at that point, you're sort of just screwed. Ember, Ruby, Shayna, Kairi, all come to mind, and the same thing is happening now with Tegan, Shotzi, and Toni.
