It’s actually offensive that Finn Balor isn’t one of the marquee names of WWE at this stage of his career here. Great performer who has been forever over with the fans, one of the most handsome men in the entire industry, phenomenal talker when it comes to mainstream media, global appeal, has an alter-ego that both adults and kids love and could be a mega-merch source.

 

I mean, its also the company that saw nothing in Adam Cole, and all he's really missing from that list is "merch moving alter ego".

Its especially funny because Finn works a great WWE style, and would likely not be very successful in AEW.

 

Out of all the talent they’ve fumbled, I still think Balor was the worst (despite the fact he’s been a main event guy)

He has very top guy potential.

Owens a close second.

 

I think the original leader of the bullet club would do very well in AEW.

 

Ok Roman putting on a mask to go fight through the crowd is great

 

KO should have been this gen’s Stone Cold figure. Another major fuckup

 

I'll admit I didnt watch his NXT work, so maybe he's re-found something, but that was 7 years ago. Dudes match quality in main roster WWE was a substantial step below an AJ/Daniel/KO/Sami/etc. His pacing, selling style, really everything is perfect for WWE...there's a roster probably 10 guys deep in his size/look that do it better in AEW for a fan base that's expecting more in the ring.

He'd do great for the honeymoon phase, but, a year after debuting...cant say I'd expect him to even be TNT champ let alone competing for the top belt.

edit: Though I'd love to see a company that could actually do something with the Demon.

Oh, I meant his recent NXT work. Takeover:Brooklyn was my first NXT show, so I know that Finn/KO match well. But again, that was 5+ years ago.

Him vs Dunne from the more recent NXT run was a banger, and he’s also the only person to get interesting matches out of Kross there, imo

Edit: Also, the match against KOR was another phenomenal match, plus the Gargano title match

 

Love that Seth just did the BSS interview with Austin talking about how much he hated the ending to his match with the Fiend, and they essentially did the same exact finish here with Roman and Finn, lmao

Just watching the finish now...my god, the Finn power up is the coolest thing Ive ever seen get wasted in 30 seconds

 

This one, if Finn beat the hell out of Roman to the point that the ref had to stop it...you could actually kayfabe it away as "that level of the Demon doesnt care about wins and losses, he just wants to hurt" and a ref stoppage would work.

Having the top rope break under red lights and mist; just dumb...

 

Me to the TV/WWE creative after watching that:

 

Imagine if after Hulking Up, someone slapped Hulk Hogan and he lost all the magic power and just got pinned....just, why would the top rope breaking cause this issue?

 

Introducing a new power-up sequence to a mega-baby face should never result in a loss in the next 30 seconds.
