Grand Slam week looks absolutely packed, but don’t sleep on Rampage this week. Damn fine sounding show, that.

It was. All 3 matches were solid. Though match of the night was probably Joey/Sonny from the Dark Elevation taping.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Sad that Bad Romance is over but I saw that Joey had to get some stitches after if, so I'm excited to see how hard they go.

Fuck yeah, I hope this gains ground. Vince and co. have been fucking over a lot of people for a long time.

This is a thing I've been thinking over the last month that would really be the dagger for WWE, is if AEW unionized or treated their workers as employees. I know the EVP's have benefits, etc, but having all your main workers treated the same way (they can still bring in jobbers as extras just like any other media production) would be something that puts a lot of pressure on WWE and would really set AEW apart.

AEW workers are already free to work indie shows and other promotions if it doesn't interfere with AEW shows. That's a huge deal/upgrade from WWE to begin with. Unionizing would be MASSIVE news for AEW.

I don't understand how they can claim their independent contractors and then ban them from being on Twitch. Like how is that even legal?

No one has ever sued them for it haha

Feel like it would have to be a group of people to sue, if it was one person you would think that a single person would have some sort of repercussions come from it. I assume as a independent contractor the amount of labor protection you have is lessened.

Yeah, it's sort of been an unspoken understanding for years that everyone knows it's wrong but no one wrestler on their own can really stand up and make waves without WWE crushing them. That's why there's been small pushes in the past to get someone like John Cena on board, because he has clout outside of WWE and could likely carry the locker room with him.

Cena or Rock could get it done if they wanted to but they’re so loyal to Vince they’d never ever do it.

Yep. And I don't see an outsider being able to push the meter any closer unless public pressure starts to mount. A guy like Andrew Yang is still going to need to solicit support from current wrestlers, and I have a feeling that as soon as McMahon gets word, he's going to squash it internally to a point that wrestlers will fear even speaking to Yang.

I presume the rock is part of sag-aftra, right?

One of WWE's legal strategies for years has been to drag out any suit for as long as possible to simply drain you of your resources/make it not even worth continuing your pursuit of a case from a monetary perspective, hasn't it? I feel like there were a couple wrestlers who spoke out on that front in the past.
