These two just go hand in hand to me; last time they had the WWE Title defended on TV was to hotshot it from The Miz to Lashley to get to the WM match they wanted.

That this comes right before a draft gives me some hope they have a plan for a Big E title run; but, seems just as likely that a title suddenly being defended on TV for the first time in 6 months to counter a demo loss and MNF is something that fades away by Crown Jewel or SS

Yeah, I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see his title fun lasting long. I smell another Orton title run sooner rather than later.

Not really sure I'll even continue watching NXT, to be honest. I was already fast-forwarding through about 90% of the TV as it is, and this just seems like as good a reason as any to free up my time.

That's...very not good. Last time they did a .43 going up against the MLB All-Star stuff, they got ~1.6mil viewers. If they pulled their biggest trigger and only got that; than AEW surpassing them in outright number one week is very possible

Yeah I fully expect some panic booking BS to take place. They didn’t promote shit and know that the NFL kills their audience. When the show has been awful for a year and a half they can’t be surprised that football would hurt them this bad.

Football kills them every year idk or get why Vince thinks anything he does will change that. It’s not like this came out of nowhere

Honestly I think most euro-based talent will stay and resign with WWE.

Even if the fans love Big E, you’ve built him up poorly prior to and after winning MITB. He should be a badass, but you have him joking around all of the time. Also you killed all of Lashleys momentum by getting rid of the hurt business and having him face Goldberg’s old ass in a god awful match. Lashley was cold as can be as a heel and Big E’s build up was non existent and then rushed for a rating.

Be mad not to tbh. A lot of the international wrestlers released by WWE will struggle to get visas unless picked up and sponsored by another company. If WWE are offering to keep them they should take it.

This is the stuff that AEW does right that keeps continually biting WWE in the ass. Because 50% of WWE stories are "become a tag team and turn on each other = blood feud", they never have any factions to keep someone dominant or keep stories interesting.

In actual power, Kenny isnt that strong anymore (Christian pinned him, took nearly 20mins to put away Jungle Boy, etc), but his faction is dominant. And the story of that slowly coming apart at the seams is great. The Hurt Business broke up and was over with their feuds in like...3 weeks. Literally no reason not to keep Shelton/Cedric around, they dont even have to win ever (see: The Good Brothers). And you can fold other acts into them that you aren't using (Ricochet, Keith Lee, etc).

Im really curious to see the hour-by-hour; I'd bet the Big E tease kept the 10-11 from completely tanking. If they had stuck with the tag match that average might genuinely be like 1.5mil or lower up against a good MNF matchup
