Yeah, I'm sure "listen to Shaq's super dull voice as he calls a wrestling match" will certainly be a big selling point.

And there zaps most of my interest. $50 is just too much, especially for an unproven product. And following the weekly stuff seems like its not worth if I'm gonna have to shell out big $$$ just to watch all the PPVs that actually conclude everything

Hilarious. For the price of a single AEW PPV, I can get an entire year of NXT. Resubscribe to WWE Network a week or two before a Takeover, catch up on weekly TV, watch Takeover, and just because...I get all the Big 4 PPVs and MITB.

edit: And if they are streaming Fyter Fest and Fight for the Fallen, that's $150 in 2 months for their events.

....what’d y’all think the price was gonna be? All in was $50 if I recall correctly on fite tv or whatever it’s called.

It's insane to me that they (seemingly) didn't see the need to make it cheap...I'd understand 50 on traditional PPV, but you're not making new fans with this, which kinda defeats the purpose of using a new platform(at least for wrestling). I'd spend max 20$ on it.

Unless we have another Tiger-Mickelson fiasco and it ends up being free

as I said in the post I made after, they're not gonna draw any new fans with that. Unless they're just taking the L on that, given the "full AEW product" is a 3+ months out

Also, this is gonna be awesome: Air dates, episode titles and synopsis for VICELAND’s new series The Wrestlers

The Best New Talent in America, airing May 22: Few people have had a larger impact on pro wrestling than veteran promoter Gabe Sapolsky. Damian follows Gabe’s crew on an American tour as he trains the next crop of superstars.

The Craziest Wrestling in Japan, airing June 26: Invisible wrestlers, blow-up dolls, and waterpark matches: welcome to the weird and wild world of Japan’s DDT, the world’s strangest wrestling promotion.

Aren't wwe ppv's the same price?

Also can't you just subscribe to Bleacher Report live for a month and get it for $10?

Yeah I think I’d top out at $30 for Double or Nothing. I’m sure they’re gonna make a ton of money though. That’s what my personal value would be for it though, as someone who only causally knows most of those guys. I’m interested but not for that much. Maybe a few months down the line if I’m really into the weekly show I’d be more than willing to pay that.

In an abstract world, yes, but I cant imagine the WWE PPV buy rate even registers in 5 digits, let alone the 6 digits AEW is looking for.

And the weekly TV, yes you could theoretically get AEW on B/R live, but the events are extra. Sounds like its gonna be the UFC model

Oh do you not get Double or Nothing with the base BR Live?

It's not available in Ireland so I've honestly no idea about it

50 is steep but WWE is so fucking terrible that I'll probably pay it just to support competition. Still think the price is going to turn a lof of people away.
