I felt the same way. I'm not a Moxley fan at all, but I thoroughly enjoyed him in the last segment.

 

I do however like the idea of this tweet happening.

 

I'll be honest, I'm a little surprised everyone enjoyed that last AEW segment so much. It felt way too drawn out. I think he did the "Wait, one more thing..." about three times. It was also quite obvious he was never going to actually join the Inner Circle so maybe that's why I didn't feel invested in the segment.

 

It was like 10 minutes

 

No I know. Maybe I should've worded it a little differently. I guess it was more the pace of things. To me it felt like 7 minutes of celebration before the reveal. I'm sure it was a lot less than that in actuality, but it just felt a little off. But in the end, like I said, everyone else seemed to enjoy it, so it's probably just me nitpicking, haha.

 

On a positive note for Moxley, I do agree that he's set up for an amazing year. Feuding with Jericho for the title in AEW and going to have one of the most brutal battles possible with Suzuki in Japan just to start things off. Incredible.

i hated aew last night besides the opening match. not sure what’s going on with them but they really need to fix their self, stop with the cringe cult factions, and focus on why people liked them in the first place: good wrestling.

 

I love the factions.

okay the holidays are over. finally got to watch the past two weeks of AEW. See, i thought last weeks was really rough to watch. It felt extremely clunky, messy, and unorganized.

This week was much better and back on track. I thought it was a great show actually. There are a bunch of small angles growing, i like the inclusion of Arn, DDP going into business for himself was a bit much, and the last segment was fantastic.

My biggest complaints..
- i finally agree. It's time for JR to go. I was on his side for a long time but the past two weeks show that he really has lost it and is either trying too hard or just can't keep up.
- Did i miss something? They BARELY promoted Jericho's cruise and Bash at the Beach. Considering the PPV is still a bit away, why not hype the hell out of this thing. The past two weeks should've been nothing but promoting those shows. especially since they're going to look so different.

Overall i think they're doing fine.

Yeah, I dont really get that either. Dustin can eat that pin without hurting Cody's story for sure. Was one of those times where they should have done the obvious interference to cost them the match.

 

I will say that they could use a little more variety. They are a bit heavy on the "dark/evil" themes right now.

 

i have enjoyed the Jericho/Moxley feud a lot but i just hope Moxley isn't the one to unseat Jericho. in no way can they justify the AEW title being established by two straight WWE household names with the roster they have. i think Moxley would be better served having an extended program with someone like Pac while Omega goes for the belt. everything we know about Omega's character prior to AEW says he should be dying to win that top prize. i dont necessarily want to see Jericho/Omega again but if it's in service of getting full speed Kenny Omega it's worth it. they have arguably the best wrestler in the world at his peak on a new brand and he's in a will they/wont they with Adam Page.

I rly enjoyed dynamite.
Except for the nightmare collective. And i wish they would focus more on single's competition and maybe introduce a midcard belt. Such a belt would fit perfectly for now on MJF, Pac or eeeeven Jungle Boy.

 

and now i finally caught up with WWE crap. Smackdown was tough to find anything interesting. Face Lacey is 100% liberty bell from glow lmao. I knew it was inevitable and with the brand split, i guess you HAVE to do it, but i thought their was still mileage from the heel sassy southern bell. But whatever, the rest of SD feels very whatever to me. Like lacey but even more so, I loved heel daniel bryan and thought there was still soo much more you could do with that. Shaved, clean cut, clean face Bryan isn't really all that intersting and that's all SD has to offer.

Raw on the other hand hasn't been too bad. Orton vs AJ next week has to be bullshit. I was just about to say that sounds like an excellent "career on the line" match for wrestlemania. i'd love that. I think Becky vs Asuka is a solid, simple feud. Although we're seeing that, again cause of the brand split, the women divisons are spread just too thin cause Charlotte really does not have anyone to face. Andrade vs Rey is excellent. And i admit it... i was thoroughly entertained by the wedding. My issue with this angle is that i dont see the end game and i dont think it really helps Rusev or Lashley, but i'm conceding that it's getting her over big time. She can spread this heel dust wherever she goes for a while and it will get heat. And it's cool to see them trying to use this to get Liv morgan over...not against it.

Oh and Lesnar in the rumble is realllllly toying with my Lesnar vs Fiend at mania idea! !

Its funny, I feel the exact opposite way. I cant imagine them not handing Moxley the title...largely because Jericho is 95% of his WWE character and Moxley is so wildly different. And because beyond Mox, there isnt a reasonable face to build anytime soon that would have the impact, while Moxley would have a half dozen heels already built to be title contenders. Inner Circle would get stale well before Page or Omega or some other face are ready to take it at like, All Out II.

They didnt go with the hottest wrestler on the planet for their initial champ (Omega), no sense in doubling down on that mistake and passing up Moxley.

 

Nice tribute to DDP in that last segment when he pretended to join the nWo.

 

WWE should put all the Horsewomen on the same brand. Would then give talent on the opposite brand a chance to really grow and expand as characters. At this juncture, you know that the Horsewomen are going to dominate the top storylines of their brand, and even when they're on separate ones, there are moments where they can't help but to have them cross-over. It did sort of seem like overkill to put them all on one brand at first, but seeing how things have played out, I think it would only be beneficial for both creative and the rest of the women's roster to have all four on one single brand together.
