i couldn't believe when they held up the bronze medals like a title before the match on Wednesday and commentary referred to Private Party as "number two contenders". all seemed weird

Agreed. You cant get DQ'd in a triple threat match...so why would any team worry about a refs 10 count to get out of the ring?

Any match with more than 2 teams should always be tornado style.
