Why they would ever agree to Friday night is beyond me. From a rating's perspective, you were always going to be DOA

 

Def agree Friday night is a death slot. They still would have gotten 2 mill if on fox

And a massive multi-show crossover event

 

Hahahaha, holy shit. It lost in demos to the 1AM Sportscenter and a 12am Adult Swim show. It barely squeaked by NXT's numbers...

I think the worst its done since I got back into it 5 years ago. Even during the rating woes last year, they were still doing 1.6+ million every week.

A very real problem though; FS1 is in about as many homes as USA...certainly close enough to not account for 1.5 million viewers. So, it basically means two things:

1. People were completely unaware that it was moving to FS1...which says a lot about how much their audience is paying attention during the show or during NFL games, cause it was plastered everywhere.

2. Their audience is even more casual than I imagined, and they literally watch whats on TV on Fridays...and if its the World Series over SD, cool. If its this, it means Fox cant even move the show to FS1 long-term or they'll have paid more than USA for a show with 50% the ratings.

Also, Fox is never gonna preempt MLB coverage again for SD. They did massive numbers for the World Series.

Kinda feels like heel Bayley is more interesting than anything that raw is doing with their women and they have 5 of the top wrestlers

 

Going back to the Smackdown FS1 talk quickly... I would guess most people that aren’t die hard sports fans probably don’t even know they have FS1. Shit, I don’t even know what channel it is on my tv I have to check every time.

but yeah Friday is terrible for tv. Hell I stay in most Friday nights but I never think hey I’m gonna see what’s on regular tv. Unless it’s actual sports like someone said. I think I’ve only seen the first Smackdown on fox and then I just totally forgot about it.

 

Someone said there's a wwe style of wrestling? I really think there is just because there's too many wrestlers so they can't give enough time to all of them.

 

I don’t know, part of me doesn’t think it’s indicative of the audience at all because it’s a Friday night, most people aren’t staying in to watch wrestling on a Friday.

 

Right, but that was true last week as well. They're pre-taped show on Christmas Eve last year still did 1.75mil....the NYE on did even better...not exactly popular times to watch TV.

Friday's a terrible day for the show, but Fox sure as hell isnt giving the M-Thu on the main network...not when their 3rd show was already down to RAW on USA numbers. And after this performance, they cant put them M-Thu on FS1, because they definitely would lose out week to week to RAW.

 

I thought I would at least go through my DVR’d smackdown recordings. But I don’t, and then Raw is on...

 

Ive switched back to RAW twice...
