I’ve enjoyed the little I’ve seen from him but I feel like if that happened in wwe people would hate it. But at the same time we have the 24/7 championship and people love that. So who knows

 

I don’t keep up with NXT week to week so I’m still blown away at every takeover. That said, I just finished takeover Toronto and Cole/gargano was TOO LONG. Great match overall, but really was exhausting. What did the thread think of takeover Toronto?

 

I think we all enjoyed it but weren't blown away by anything at all except the Io/Candace match

 

Nxt should try to let all the top talents go up to the big leagues and start fresh. I don't know if that would change the lesser booking, though.

 

Yeah Toronto was a good show, not one of the best. Io/Candice fucking killed it

 

Yeah, we’re definitely not watching the same thing. Apart from the women’s champ part that is, I agree there.

There's nothing wrong with wrestling having some comedy moments in it. Orange Cassidy rules and when need be, he can go, same with Colt Cabana and Joey Ryan.

 

I mean, the bottom one isn't really insulting my intelligence. I go into wrestling looking to be entertained, and Freshly Squeezed always does that for me.

 

That's not bad at all. I say do it. The one thing stopping me from going to my first WWE is almost always the price.

 

What insults my intelligence is WWE thinking putting the universal title on Brock all the times that they have is a good thing.

 

Ah, yes. The rich tradition of mediocre white men commenting on the looks of women in wrestling and holding them to a standard they themselves could never even come close to achieving. How refreshing.

 

My issue with this move/change is that it so clearly says more about AEW than it does NXT, which is a shame, because NXT has been the best wrestling product out there for years now.

 

Am I alone in thinking that NxT is really not in a great spot storyline-wise right now? Worried about how that translates to the TV. I have not read taping spoilers so maybe it's just me being behind.

 

Id also point out a weekly 2 hour NXT means they need a LOT more feuds ongoing. Which, sure you can fill with Lee/Dijakovic and such, but, there is no world in which the NXT womens division has that kind of depth. Nor does the tag division. I suspect we're about to see a lot of NXT call-up busts come back (Crews, Breezango, etc) to NXT to fill out the roster.

The real problem with weekly NXT is that their feuds work because they dont overexpose people week to week. If Gargano/Ciampa are facing off every week in tag matches, they cant run that feud out over a year.

They're actually in a great shape to hit a reset overall. Cole/Gargano is done. Dream has held the NA belt long enough he can drop it. Street Profits are doing main roster stuff, so they can drop the belts if needed. Shayna is more than done, hopefully. They've also got some injured people coming back soon (Ciampa, Dakota Kai, etc) that can shake things up.

 

This is my fear. NXT is aided so much by the fact that not every single performer in an active storyline is forced into nonsensical tag matches or segments simply to fill time. Characters nearly always show up only when the storyline itself dictates. In the wake of Toronto, the one big complaint about NXT currently seems to be how much talent they have that isn't getting a chance to really shine because of that. So I'm hoping they simply use the extra hour to feature guys like Keith Lee in a meaningful way, even if it's not for a championship belt, not so we can see Gargano/Cole in tag matches against each other every week before a TakeOver singles match

 

I see them being in a kind of post-wrestlemania no storyline situation at the mo. I’m sure there will be some stuff set up in the next week or two.

 

You're telling me you don't want to see multiple versions of Gargano and whoever's feuding with O'Reily and Fish vs. TUE weekly?!

 

We're going to learn very quickly who's actually in charge by how it gets booked. If they stick to the schedule as if they were taping TV...it could actually work out great because they have plenty of talented guys who can carry mid-card stories. And folding in the 205 Live guys would actually go a long way towards filling that time. It could be better than NXT TV has been since like WM.

 

205 roster on NXT is the best idea. I think that they handle their weekly stories pretty gracefully. No one is on TV more than they need to be and the main events are always pretty varying.

 

The return of Ciampa is the only NXT thing I’m excited about

 

I'm excited for the direction of Keith Lee and Punishment. Their house show match was a ton of fun and I'd love to see more of that. The Dijak match at the taping got a standing ovation, so that should be dope too. Need all of those guys on tv.
