Feels like UFC already has the model. They do their rankings off W-L and win streaks...but its not always #1 v #2 at every PPV. For example, UFC240 is main evented by champ v #4. The ESPN event after is main evented by a #2 v #11 match...where #11 lost his last match and wasnt on TV for nearly 2 years before that.

So a new guy (say Jungle Boy) who goes on a 4-5 win streak can shoot up the rankings. But likewise, a former champ rated lower might also credibly get the match.

 

Makes me wonder if they’ll allow “media” to vote for their rankings since they are taking the traditional UFC approach in terms of giving media access to the wrestlers before and after events

 

Was out of town for a week, and wanted to wait until Raw/SD were over before posting. Also I didn't get a chance to catch these events live, which always makes it take longer.
