ZSJ vs Sanada was definitely my favorite match of the show with Okada/Tanahashi being second. Archer and Ospreay was good as well. Thought Kenta underdelivered big time. He put both Ibushi and me to sleep

 

So after two shows, I am interested: should AEW tune down the silliness a bit or keep doing all the comedy?

 

Tune down the silliness. The Fyter Fest preshow is a huge example of that.

 

loved zsj/sanada, i’ve always liked him but zsj has become a huge favorite over the past couple years. a little let down by kenta/ibushi, kenta might have a bit of rust, sure, just wish we didn’t “waste” the ibushi matchup.

Went to see Anberlin last night so I didn’t get to watch G1 until today. I really enjoyed the majority of it. I feel like the majority of Fale matches will probably be skipped. Archer/Ospreay killed it at the NJ Cup and again last night. I’m hoping this is a sign of things to come for Archer and not just a product of being paired against Ospreay, but we’ll see. Sanada/ZSJ and Okada/Tana were both great matches. KENTA was far from perfect but I still think he’s going to shine being back in Japan. Certainly over with the crowd already.

 

honestly hope Spears cuts a killer interview here. everyone was down on him having a high profile angle with Cody but we have no reason to be that down on him imo, im sure they are running with him because they see something

 

the issue with Kenta disappointing is during his time with WWE he was in the two most lax environments in NXT and 205 and still had like no bangers. he's had months off and didn't get himself into any kind of shape visibly. i am just not holding my breath for him to have classics at this stage, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a place.

 

I feel like people don’t give him enough credit. People say he only got over because of the Perfect 10 gimmick, but really it’s a silly gimmick, he ran with it, and got it massively over with the crowd. That has to speak to how well he can work a character.

 

I feel like the injuries killed his momentum more than anything in NXT. By the time he made his last recovery, the roster was so stacked that there was just no place for him there anymore and 205 didn’t seem to be the right fit for him. You may be right that his best days are behind him, but I’m still holding out hope that he’ll bounce back strongly in New Japan. I’m sure we’ll have a much clearer picture by the end of the tournament.

 

I just want Kenta to get shredded again. The injury really ducked up his body and he hasn't been in good shape since 2015 or so.

 

He had one really good match in his WWE run and that was against Ali. Pretty sure It was him anyway lol

 

I hope Sami doesn't kill Tessa tonight

Yeah sounds like a pretty good show. Not really a fan of bringing Rhyno in, but hey it might be good. Impact does the best with what they have left.

that has to be the direction they are going. If it's going to be anyone, that makes so much sense.

OR they can do the TNA thing and feed her to Cage like they did Ivelisse and Mil Muertes. Make her look like she can win, only for a crushing defeat.
