I suspect 2-3 years from now, we're gonna see a LOT of "future endeavor" WWE posts to guys they are paying comical money. They've got a dozen+ guys working a show nobody watches, another 30+ guys who never actually wrestle on house shows, and then a solid dozen guys like Mojo who they surely overpaid to wrestle filler matches at house shows. They have to have millions tied up in guys they wouldnt miss for a second if they were gone.

 

Definitely. There's a long long list of guys who are misused or need a real push. But then there's guys who, honestly, just forget it wwe.

Its true..I get you need filler jobbers but what's the point if they're legit never on TV. Maybe I just don't understand their value on house shows?

 

I looked at this coming off the Saudi shows. They ran a show for each brand the Sun after that. So theoretically that was as thin as they'd be stretched (AJ out with injuries, Charlotte/Andrade both out for his family death, KO/Sami not appearing, etc). They had 40 total wrestlers not appearing on the house show matches...and some who did have matches (NWJ, EC3, The Club) almost never appear on TV. And that's not counting the cruiserweights, who champion aside, dont usually appear at even NXT house shows.

WWE basically has, at all times, at least 40 people not wrestling on TV or house shows. Some weeks, it probably breaks 50 people. They could invent a 3rd main roster brand...or a 2nd NXT level brand...and still have too many people not getting used

 

I feel like it depends a lot on what happens with AEW and the rest of the indie scene.

If they are able to keep a stranglehold on the market, they'll keep paying guys comical money because the primary purpose of signing them is to prevent them from working elsewhere.

On the other-hand, if AEW succeeds and starts eating into their market share despite WWE's attempts to buy up all the talent, I do think we'll see WWE's plans shift and they'll release a bunch of people probably in effort to saturate the market.

Seattle based indie Defy announced a show in Tacoma the night after the Super J Cup that'll probably have a lot of NJPW talent on it as well. Super excited to see lots of guys wrestle for the first time even if Tacoma seems like a bit of a shit hole lol

This show looks like such trash I don't even want it to count for the title. I'll make it for bonus points and use the Extreme Rules/Summerslam combo to decide the belt. So @tucah is safe for a few more months.

As an example of how dumb I felt making this, I put an interference prop in Kofi/Dolph's steel cage match and had a "wtf am I doing" moment. Then I remembered that in the Seth/Owens feud a few years ago they had a HiaC match where the entire fucking point was to assure no interference in a locked cell, and then Jericho still interfered anyway. So I left it.

Alvarez is reporting that Vince had a meeting last weekend and said no more wrestling during commercial breaks. I guess they have had 2 out of 3 fall matches to honor that recently? Idk. Who fuckin cares.

 

sure i may be champ mainly because only a few people filled out aew cards and i'm only going to last more than a month because of how fucking garbage wwe is right now but hey, it still counts

 

Also, WrestleCircus is live on Twitch tonight and has a pretty decent card.

 

If that means all matches occur between breaks good. If it means guys just sit around on their hands during a match while the break is on, that's bad.

 

Ciampa is doing appearances at the upcoming Evolve shows. I wonder how close he is to coming back.

 

Hopefully he's ready to go for Toronto

 

Oh, I forgot about Fight for the Fallen. I'll group that with Extreme Rules since they are the same weekend, and make that for the belt. So just a few more weeks, not months. No Daniel Bryan/Big Show US title reigns in APWP.
