The fact that Moxley hates his WWE character as much as I did is so fucking eye opening.

Yeah I had such high hopes for Dean in WWE but they definitely dropped the ball with him and his character. THE LUNATIC FRINGE was so so bad.

Him as Moxley though...can't wait to see. Guy isn't the greatest technical wrestler or anything like that but still has the potential to be this era's "perfect" anti-hero in the biz.

Great time to be a wrestling fan. There's actually some hope again.

 

WWE's response to AEW this week literally could not have been worse.

That Brock Lesnar bit with the briefcase/whatever the hell that was, was the epitome of what NOT to do.

It's almost like Vince wants to be out of touch for the sake of being out of touch.

Or maybe all he cares about is the international market.

 

This match is an insult to everyone involved.

 

I fucking hate the song. Its like eight parts to eight different songs.

 

I haven't listened to Poppy at all. But I just assume it's the brighter version of Billie Eilish.

There are virtually no active story lines in WWE right now. NONE.

 

When will Brock Lesnar cash in?
What will happen with the U.S. title?
Ummm....I saw something about Heavy Machinery vs. D-Bry and Rowan?
Shane and Roman don't get along?
Drake Maverick desperately wants the 24/7 belt.

Honestly guessing at some of these haha

 

The WWE Chronicle made it clear he had a very different vision for his character. Definitely darker, less predictable yet more focused on goals. That character could still do comedy...but, it was never wacky. Sadly it died within days of that airing

Big problem is lots of guys are a year+ from their deals ending. Revival are after WM36 (with maybe Dash being 2+ months longer). Harper is similar. Lots of guys signed extensions within the last year or so...so someone like Sami cant leave til like 2022.

 

Fits with the Reid Flair angle where, yeah, it'll get heat...but why do it? If all you have is real life messed up stuff, why even have a writing staff?

 

There is a major silver lining to this though, instead of getting a barrage of WWE guys coming to AEW in the next few months, we will have many spread out moments of new premieres that will be very exciting every single time it happens.

 

I'm really curious about Tyler Breeze's contract status - he'd be perfect for AEW

 

With WWE, they NEVER know what to "do next" in ANY feud or story. Becky beat Lacey. Okay great. Now what? Umm... lacey, taunts becky some more and umm, maybe wrestle again soon? That's it? You don't want to add another layer to it. Raise the stakes. Have Lacey do something heinous which makes Becky want to fight her again?

And i mean...what else is there? I like Kofi/Ziggler, but it doesn't feel like a main event storyline.

Definitely X and Play Destroy. Those songs are both kind of a mess. I've grown to love X, so I might end up coming around to this one.

 

Such a shame considering how he originally envisioned his character before Vince threw all the wacky shit at him. He envisioned a face Dean as someone like John McClane from Die Hard, which makes complete sense when you watch the really early stuff after The Shield broke up. He really was in the ballpark of a character like that. But as time went on and he got over, you could just see Vince's influence ruin everything.
