I’m about halfway through the podcast. I’d say so far it’s not really malicious or anything. Just airing his legit gripes with Vince. Seems like they just couldn’t connect.

Mostly just Vince and the whole creative process. He did call HHH cutthroat but that's about it. Although we did almost get a pipebomb on RAW. Apparently he expected HHH to say some shit on RAW after he found out he was leaving, so he was ready to fire back. Had "bullets in the chamber" as he puts it. But it went normal so there was no need.

For sure, but, if he's working the top end of the card against Omega, Mox, Jericho...hell, even a PAC or Pentagon...his character work doesn't stand out as much. AEW's low card is more generic, but their top end is basically a Sami away from having the best character workers in the business.

I just worry he ends up like the Corbin/Jinder of their roster, because he always works the Brandi angle and I find it hard to imagine he wont be a majorly featured wrestler on his own promotion.

    Looking forward to this.

    Great Googly Moogly Prestigious

hey finally got to watch double or nothing (thank you dailymotion). Pretty good. Cody vs Dustin was so fucking great. Amazing. Like all-time great level in my opinion. It had everything i like about wrestling. Told an amazing story. The wrestling was brutal and on par to what dustin vs cody should be. Wow so good. It doesn't get more A+ than that.

Jericho vs Omega was a 'good' match but not amazing...like solid B+/A- level. Fatigue was definitely settling in to the crowd. Obviously the ending with Ambrose was awesome, necessary, and exactly what this PPV needed. Jericho's speech followed by Ambrose... fantastic ending. He's definitely the type of addition AEW needs. Young, established star, who hasn't reached his full potential yet.

Womens 4 way was really good too. I was skeptical at first but Baker/Rylie worked amazing together. Awesome Kong was a nice little surprise too. Why was this NOT for a title?

That would be only real complaint. I'm surprised we weren't crowning a whole bunch of new champions tonight. In fact, we didn't crown any? I'm also extremely weary of the idea of having other promotions belts in this thing. I remember watching WCW/JCP/NWA stuff in the 80s where they had a whole bunch of belts and i thought it made everything feel disjointed. I like it in a way because, in theory, AEW/NWA is supposed to be a collection of a bunch of smaller companies in one. It's like the old territory days. I'm not totally against it... gotta think about it and see how it pans out. I just think it's easier to have AEW specific champions and that's it....but again i'm not against it. Just can't have too much...like more specicialy, if you want to showcase talents from other smaller promotions by having their belt their that's fine, but the young bucks should be fighting for the AEW tag belts.

Production level at times were AMAZING and at times abysmal. They'll work those things out i'm sure. Like the pre-show battle royal was a disaster in my opinion. I like that they tried something new with the rules, but the way it was presented, it took a while to get used to.

Some of the non main event matches were okay, but that's mostly because, hey I dont' really know these people at all. It'll take some time...and when nothing's on the line, it's hard to be invested.

Liked JR and Marvez together. NO 4 man booth ever though! Haha i liked how when those masked men came in Excalibur knew who they were, but obviously the idea is that we're not gonna tell you.

Good show. I don't think I'm willing to pay $50 though...especially if these things are happening every month.

WWE has banned saying “Saudi Arabia” on all broadcasts and they’re only allowed to use “Jeddah” or “Super ShowDown” to describe the show there.
I cant stop laughing at the idea that these shows were meant to promote Saudi Vision 2030 and now they wont even admit they are going there.

Yo imagine loving dean dragging creative while having criticized Sasha for being fed up lol

  10. I think this will get a lot of Punk/Colt pod comparisons (it already is) but I think Moxley is just being honest and not so much just trying to be a giant dick head. He praised a lot of things at the start and then just really tore down Vince and how out of touch he is.

Some of those stories sound so fucking outrageous and petty.

  11. Moxley is going to rule in AEW - I'm so excited to see his character unleashed.

  12. anyways I hope this sets a precedent for more WWE workers to just wait out their contract and leave. Imagine how awesome it would be to see Tyler Breeze in AEW?

"We’re all just in self-preservation mode trying to not look like idiots instead of creating good things."

  19. I really want to know the vile line Moxley was talking about - the one about Roman that would have made the company lose sponsors.

A few friends and i were talking about it and the only thing i can think of would be something like...i hope it kills you. Which would be FUCKED to make someone say that about their friend.

  21. I liked how he never once referred to Roman as anything but his friend. I’m not sure if he even said ‘Roman’ once.

  23. "if cancer doesn't finish you, I will" probably something fucked up that involved the idea of cancer killing him

  24. MidDave

Yeah...that's what we came up with. Honestly...the whole thing made me uncomfortable, and something like that would have 100% made me change the channel. As both someone who has fought cancer, and as someone who is friends with someone who fought Roman's specific type and idolized him, the whole situation made it weird and something like that would have been way too far.

  25. agreed

like even if Roman agreed to have his illness be part of the story line I'm sure it's still not fun to say out loud even if it's fake.
