Love that the WWE’s best long term feud was booked as a cool down match!!!

 

Watching in chunks today. Thoughts so far:

- Really dig that finisher from the New Day, and now really bummed that Sasha and Finn never busted out something similar during last year's MYC.
- Becky and Charlotte was great, but a shame the defacto house show finish had to end the mach.
- Love that no matter where WWE goes, nobody has any idea who is actually coming out when Lashley's music initially hits.
- John Cena looks like JBL had a baby with a Kennedy and fed it HGH starting at the age of 4

 

Main Event exceeded my expectations. For sure.

 

Billie Kay would be a really great addition as a character on The Good Place.

I fucking hate what WWE has done to Asuka

 

Match was meh, but pretty awesome reaction to the IIconics winning in Australia

Joe just laying here and not moving at all while AJ struggled to get the calf crusher locked in at the end of the match really ruined that ending for me

 

Did the WWE glam squad get a new shipment of hair dye or something? Ruby looks incredible, though.

 

Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander are really good

Welp, cant say im surprised. AJ/D-Bry, Shawn coming out of retirement, etc...yet they are scaling back to a 25k venue

Gotta wonder how this affects future Saudi events and also the amount they're getting paid. I have a hard time believing SA would pay an enormous amount for a show that people don't seem to really care for

 

What was the reported attendance for the first Saudi show?

 

They claimed 60,000. So it definitely is lower but the question is how low. I'd say prob 40 - 45k

 

Also, diminishing returns at a certain point...if show 1 is massive, and show 2 has Michaels returning...what short of the Rock appearing tops that? And what do you do for show 4?

I'd bet Michaels returning at the RR in Phoenix, with the chance of the Rock, might well do 40-45k too

Hung out with my writer buddy last night. He had some fun little tidbits about working there. He said he flies to the cities the night before Raw and Smackdown, hammers out what people need to do, and does nothing for the rest of the week. So if you are wondering why the booking seems abrupt, that's why. lol. He says he is working the Roman and AJ stories and casts it out of his mind the rest of the week. So crazy.

Fun tidbit: the Samoa Joe at AJ's house thing was filmed in Colorado Springs.

 

I finally finished super show down and it wasn't that bad, I avoided checking in here bc I didn't want to see spoilers but overall the show was much better than I thought it would be.

There was definitely a few things I really didn't like such as Becky slapping Charlotte with the belt for dq, joe tapping, how quick the Bryan Miz match was, Ronda having shades of Brock, the ionics anticlimactic finish, many good wrestlers not being on the card, cena winning in 20 seconds (like I predicted before) but overall I thought it was a really good ppv for what it was. The matches were all mostly good.

Another thing I don't like is Vince making Renee constantly say how much of a wrestling fan she is, in case people actually doubted that. That was fucking annoying. I know there's probably some new viewers because they offered it for free but can we not assume they all think that shitty that she has to be fed lines about watching Kane or other wrestlers as a child for what felt like every other match or so? It felt so manufactured and you could hear it in her voice.

 

You should make a podcast with him after he leaves the company like stww and have dan on as comedic relief

 

I really don't like buddy murphys ring attire, and it seems super uncomfortable

 

Yeah Buddy's gear actually bothers me too lol
