Sure there are exceptions but I feel like since the network debuted in 2014 that all the non-major PPVs feel like raw or Smackdown but with more wrestling because it’s so cheap to watch them now

It was the end of the show and 30 minutes over time. If Daniel Bryan just won all of the belts I'd have been leaving.

 

I doubt that

 

I think the discussion about the network and quality of non-big PPV's is interesting. For me, the network is just a matter of convenience and even though I get way behind with NXT, it is absolutely worth me paying $60 a year to watch the big PPV's on a TV + the takeovers and random episodes of NXT.

I think the current problem is they are in TV negotiations, so they are doing anything they can to boost ratings, even if its at the expense of longer-term storytelling that makes any sense.

AJ/Nak are popular...drag out their feud. Sasha/Bayley is a storied rivalry, drag it out. Brock Lesnar draws eyes, keep him champ unexpectedly. People like Braun slamming things, just keep doing that and avoid the title run. The second ratings drop, pull the trigger on one of those things randomly to try and spike interest.

 

But like, you would of cheered for at least 10 seconds, motherfuckers were on the move as soon as the match ended. That clip is terrible.

A lot of pre-Network PPVs were probably worse. They're lucky they have such a talented roster now that these PPVs are more passable.

Except that under the old PPV model, the cable networks made the most money off the buys. Cost of PPV's are significantly less, but WWE is pocketing roughly the same amount of money per viewer as they were before the network, if not slightly more.
