I think its pretty clear that WWE has been waiting until after Backlash to set up story lines for the summer, which I think is fine. If thats what it takes for us to have the shakeup, then fine. We still got some pretty great stuff like Mick pointed out

 

I highly enjoy WWE shows more when I watch it with Mick rather then when i'm watching alone and reading Drew's posts.

I'm totally excited for where this Elias roode feud goes, it's been so exciting

 

These all give me a lot of hope for Smackdown going forward. Depush Charlotte a little bit while letting Becky shine, and have others ready to step in. Move Nak down to feud with Jeff and that could be great. And AJ v Joe would be amazing. And the tag division alone is amazing once they get rid of the entire Bludgeon Brothers gimmick. Its a deeper and better roster than when they shined in 2016 as a brand.

But RAW is very much a shit-show. Sami/KO/Braun are all doing great work for no purpose, and I dont see an obvious path with Brock as champ. Only things I think they've gotten right on the whole show are Bray/Matt, and the potential stage setting for Ruby Riott to be on par with Sasha/Bayley/etc once this Alexa/Nia debacle is over. It says everything that there is not a single meaningful RAW match on the Backlash card.

 

The best part about slade is his double spacing his list of negatives to match the length of Mick's list of positives lol

Oh tbh i have no idea what the plan is or what people think will happen. I think that Becky will be part of a womens tag division if they do it but we’ll see lol

 

So Asuka goes from a cool unstoppable legend in the making type persona, to a goofy borderline cartoonish character with no direction?

I was praising the quality of her work, not her story arc. She looked fantastic in that main event last night and her ring work against Asuka was on another level. She elevates every single thing she's in, in my opinion. Put the Iconics over in a big way on their debut, which was a great starting point for them. I feel like we say it every 6 months, but she just keeps getting better and I don't think she's even close to hitting her ceiling.

In regards to Becky, it just appears that they're finally ready to tell an actual story with her. The past couple weeks there have been small little backstage segments with her that feel like they must be building to something. Will it be good? Maybe not. The whole thing could end up going nowhere. But Becky is way too talented on the mic and in the ring to just be treading water, so I'm optimistic that they've got something planned for her.
