He literally serves as an openly gay character and comes out to pride flags and kisses fans on the mouth and kisses performers on the mouth. In a tag match with David Starr against moustache mountain jack kissed Starr and then Trent Seven tried to kiss Tyler Bate but he rejected the kiss lmao. It’s loads of fun with an open mind. Doubt that’ll work in WWE, ever.

I'm excited about who Daniel could be fighting at Mania 35 in Jersey, but I'm also kinda worried and hope that he makes it that long without getting hurt. His schedule shouldn't be crazy anymore. They gotta take it easy with him this time. No house shows, barely even wrestling on weeklys. Maybe 2 weeklys a month and then PPVs.

 

Don’t think this is spoilers but the word apparently is 60-80 dates. And he has to take an impact test after every match. Which I think is fair

 

I saw those rumored number dates too, but I'm not sure what the source was on that. If that's the case, then it should cover weekly TV, PPVs and select house shows. Basically a Shawn Michaels schedule, which is perfectly fine.

 

Shoemaker was saying DB's return to the ring is bigger than HBK returning in 2002. I may be biased, HBK's my all time favorite. But I'm not sure of that.

 

He's currently the most over guy in the company. Biggest babyface they have going for them. His being back is going to allow them to print money. lol

I didn't watch either HBK era, so I can't speak for that.

 

The DB return is definitely more popular because of all the social media and news outlets that picked it up.

I don’t remember Shawn’s being massive. But I also think it had been rumored for awhile.

 

I would say HBK would be bigger (though I wasn’t watching anymore at that point in 2002) simply because he’s a consensus too-5 wrestler of all time. Bryan is fucking awesome but I don’t think anyone would put him top-5 historically.

 

If you adjust it to the times then Shawn returning would be way bigger.

Shawn managed to rewrite his career by returning and mending things he absolutely fucked up by being an asshole to people.

 

I think we rate HBK higher because we know how it played out. He had all time great matches. If Bryan follows suit it could possibly be a bigger return.

 

There's also something to be said for him filling a match at the big 4 PPVs that wont be filled by a HHH or Shane or Kurt. He's still a contemporary of most of the current roster, and its believable he's got 5 years of solid work to do like HBK in 2002.

And WWE needs reliable faces right now, especially with Dean hurt. They're putting two of their biggest faces in a RAW title match and they might both get boo'd during the match.

the big difference for me between HBK's return and D Bry's is the D Bry is instantly the most over guy in the company, whereas HBK returned at a time when Hogan, Rock, Austin, Angle, Lesnar, HHH, etc were all still active (although the guys at the top of that list would be gone by a little after Mania). the landscape was incomparable.
