Second ever 2/6! I was going to rush in with a word that didn't seem quite right for my second guess, but then tried out some other options until a word that felt promising popped up. It totally could have been that first one, but I'd only gotten one 2 before this, so I could use a bit of luck to go my way
5/6 on worldle. Very solid progression through the options, felt good about this one despite it being 5. No wasted / dumb guesses.
3/6 - I've never had one where I got all the letters but none in the right place. ARISE MELTS SMELT Dordle: 6&7/7 4 5 8 7 for Quordle
Some of ya'll (hint ^) start with odd first words. Is it just whatever comes to mind to keep it fresh? Starting with anything less than 2 vowels (and why not 3?) just seems like such a waste of a first guess.
I start with the same word everyday, but personally I find it much easier to figure out what the vowels are than the consonants. If you have a bunch of consonants, you can just swap out the few options remaining for possible vowels until something clicks (because you know that there has to be a vowel or two and that they're usually in somewhat predictable places). I get my "a" and "e" out of the way with the first word since they're so common, but I feel like using a word like "adieu" which seems pretty common is going to get you stuck on a lot of those situations where you have 4 letters and there are several different consonants that fit the fifth
Nice, makes sense and a different take. I always try to get AEIOU taken out in the first 2 turns with as many common consonants as possible. I have a few starting words that get 3 that I'll switch up and I'll hit the next 2 in the 2nd word if I didn't get a vowel. I think for your reason, I don't like Adieu (with 4 vowels). I can see how that won't give you too much pertinent info. I have been using TOUSE which has worked the past few days (with T & S hitting a lot lately).
Yeah, I do a mix of consonants and vowels, really. My only real "strategy" is to try to hit word with a combo of S, T, and N on the SECOND word, if possible. I've been starting with the word "Prime" and then go from there. It's nice because sometimes it will pick something up, but in a lot of cases, I've eliminated 5 fairly common letters. If I get one or more letters from it, I know that I can probably find a second word that will also utilize S, T, or N along with it and go that route next (which is why I don't go for an S, T, N word first - easier to branch off of without getting stuck). For example, today was Prime, Meats, Tomes, Smelt It's a pretty conservative approach, but I've been doing this for a couple of weeks now and have been getting 3s and 4s every time.
I start with ROUTE and if it goes well I just start guessing immediately, but if I get skunked I try DAILY next. It’s worked well for a while.
I almost always start with STERN, I think Wheel of Fortune taught me those were the most common letters (RSTLNE) Depending on how STERN goes, then I either try and guess with what I've found/eliminated, or I try and eliminate more to facilitate getting the word in 4/5 tries My pattern often goes STERN COUGH BLIMP and with those 3 words you've eliminated enough letters to basically guess it in 4 or 5
For my brain it seems a lot easier to figure things out by nailing down consonants rather than vowels
Got it in 5 because I forgot to use a yellow letter I got the first guess until the 5th guess. So stupid.
