Somehow, both of these were still possible options for me and I thought of the actual word first. And my mind usually goes for the animal guess first if it's between multiple so not sure what happened today haha

I still go way too fast and always end up with at least 1 guess where i fail to use a piece of information I have (forget a letter or put a letter where i already know it doesnt go).

I think most people don't use it, but it's how most people play anyway (have to use all previous knowledge in all subsequent guesses)—otherwise you're able to guess a totally random word that you know is wrong just to eliminate more letters

 

I had no idea a Hard Mode exists, but it makes sense because I've always reserved words with already-eliminated letters for my most desperate guesses.

I hope some of you will join me with some occassional Absurdle play if NYT puts Wordle behind a paywall at some point. I recommend basically anyone who enjoys word games to subscribe to the crossword (and therefore all NYT games? idk I dislike the spelling bee) but it wouldn't be worth it for just Wordle haha

 

I have totally been doing that when I'm stumped but I don't play with patience. I either go too fast, and accidently miss knowledge I have, or I can't think of a word, so throw out another word just to try to get or eliminate more info. I play like it's timed for no reason whatsoever. I'm going to try the hard though as it'll teach me discipline. But you're right, you should, (and most people probably are) be playing by the hard rules anyway.

 

5/6 today. I don't play on hard mode officially, but that's usually the way I play. Sometimes if my brain isn't working after my first word (which is always the same) I will guess another word to eliminate a few more options.
