Agreed. Its like they showed way too much too early when there was no need for it. Imagine the hype if they had dropped the 2nd or 3rd trailer now instead of months ago.
I think we see a lot more with Harley. She basically prints money at this point. With Wonder Woman it feels like they just rushed to get out the first female led super hero film.
Shame because from what I've seen it looks great (I haven't seen the last 2 because I want to go in fresher) but yeah they seem to be dropping the ball. I should be seeing tv spots every time I turn on the tv.
I wouldn't have even known this was ~a month away if not for the title of this thread. Marketing/awareness seems really bad for what should they should be pushing as a gigantic summer blockbuster for WB/DC.
They released a ton of stuff yesterday. I think they are waiting for Guardians hype to die down a bit. I don't have cable so I'm oblivious to most of the TV marketing -- but I'm seeing a ton of pictures of Gal on Dr Pepper cans around work.
I see a trailer for this at least three times every time I watch a basketball game. And that couldn't of been cheap.
I mean, this is a little disingenuous since all those "extra" videos are for each individual character ... which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for this specific movie. Looking at other video playlists, Lego Batman has 9 videos, King Arthur has 6 ... and the ones with a lot of videos are things that came out right around the release or after of the movie with little featurette with the actors and such. If we're using YouTube as a metric I guess. Dunno. I'm seeing lots of stuff for it so
yeah at least half of those videos are for individual characters. i don't really watch TV so i don't know what's being advertised. i don't use FB, and i don't really use twitter like i used to either haha. i did see this on DC's insta tho
I'm really looking forward to reading reviews for this. Hopefully the embargo doesn't end up being too late. I'm very interested in seeing it if they are positive. Hopefully the rumors of meddling are completely unfounded.
Opening weekend estimates for WW range from $65-115 million I want this to be good. I also want it to blow away those projections.
