I wasn't completely serious, but as a pretty cynical and negative human things like that really do fall flat for me. Lots of eye rolls and cynical chuckles throughout.
This was great. It's a superhero movie. Cheese is naturally tied to that. Great fun, theater got massive applause when it was over. Will probably be seeing again next week.
As happy as I am that this movie is doing well, I was very disappointed. Without getting spoilery, I felt that this movie did not set itself apart from the standard tropes enough. My girlfriend felt the same way. I really was hoping for better, especially with how much of a boost I felt Wonder Woman gave BVS. All in all, happy to see that a female led/helmed movie can perform well but I wanted more.
Liked it overall but I'll say I was pretty mixed on it until they saved that town. I really loved everything that came afterwards which is weird because I've been hearing so many complaints about the third act. That third act is what saved the movie for me.
Yep. There's nothing more corny or real about hope and joy and love than there is about grim, angsty, dark stories. Describing gritty stuff as more "real" or mature is the worst. People have their tastes, and that's fine, but condescension towards positivity should be ridiculed out of existence.
A step up from other recent DC movies, but still some pretty deep flaws. Gadot and Pine are great together, but the first act is very underdeveloped (and the accents, yikes), and the third act succumbs to the typical uninteresting DC climax nonsense. The 2nd act when Gadot and Pine get to London was by far the best part.
Which characters in the Marvel universe could beat Wonder Woman? I can only think of Thanos with the infinity gauntlet, obviously. Aside from the main characters in avengers I haven't read many comics.
I'm gonna go ahead and say this is my favorite super hero movie... and at this point I don't think it's even close.
ayy, just remembered i never subbed to this thread. i really liked this movie. i think DC/Warner/whomever needs to work on making their "superhero fighting" look a little better. some of the moments where Diana is making huge jumps and landing kinda took me out of the moment (very briefly however). i really enjoyed the majority of the movie, my only complaints are really small stuff in the third act (spoilers here: the musical cue when the plane blows up, the location of the final battle)
Well that's my point, people sometimes nitpick parts in a bad movie they wouldn't normally pick just because if everything else is bad.
Disagree. Marvel's bad movies don't see any where near what good D.C. Movies get. And no way is this the "first" good D.C. Movie.
Marvel's movies have never been as close to as bad as BvS or Suicide Squad. And this is the first good DCU movie. Marvel movies also get criticized heavily too.
Sure they have. Quite a few even worse. And you're just proving my point about the blinders. The negative comments about WW so far can apply to every single Marvel film but you rarely see it happen. Weird.
