This was the most a superhero movie has felt like an actual movie in quite a while. Very much looking forward to the sequel, there's lots of cool stuff you can do with Wonder Woman in the present.
It's so great to see a movie understand it's main character so well. This was a joy to watch and I will definitely be seeing this multiple times.
I enjoyed it a lot. Gal Gadot easily makes WW my favorite DC character in that universe. The only thing that bugged me was some of the CGI, especially on the island, looked bad.
Almost there! Deadline has revised its updates based on Friday night numbers. $97.1 million. So close to $100!! I'm still holding out hope. A surge Saturday and a strong Sunday holdover could make it happen.
Warner Bros need to go ahead and green light the sequel. I'd like a sequel to come out before a justice league sequel. 2019 would be nice.
Definitely has some flaws (incl CGI as mentioned above) and an over abundance of cheese, but I still really enjoyed it. Got really emotional during the trench reveal sequence, had some issues with some of the score and cues, but they nailed it there as well as a few other scenes. So much heart.
I thought this was alright. A bit too long winded and the final battle was not great. Figured out the twist pretty early, though I thought Zeus would be involved.
Yeah I was a bit let down by this. I enjoyed it, but it dragged quite and was pretty cheesy/cliche. Robin Wright did a fantastic job.
Complaints about this being "cheesy" are so frustrating and lame, lol. Patty Jenkins took a lot of influence from classic Superman (complete with an homage when Diana deflected the bullet in an alley scene like Clark catching the bullet for Lois), and while darker tones can work for the right story, that hopeful sincerity largely helps this film succeed. See:
Already greenlit I believe. Patty Jenkins is signed on to do the next one as well. Also since apparently this movie is good. Do I need to know any story elements or anything from Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, or Suicide Squad? I've tried sitting through all 3 of those films and end up getting bored like 30 minutes in.
Loved this film, and definitely my favorite to come out of this DCEU so far. Really hoping it's full steam ahead now with Justice League, and we don't regress.
Probably would. Thor seems like he underestimates his opponents a lot. WW is also equivalent to Superman, I believe.
Traditionally, Superman is stronger, while Wonder Woman is a more skilled fighter. Though, the real answer to every "who would win" nerd question ever is obviously whoever the writer needs to win for the story being told.
I've got nothing to add except that god I loved this. I hope DC takes the proper notes from this film's success.
Just got home from seeing this. I remember being kind of a hater when the first trailer dropped, not being too sold on how the action looked, but uh, I really gotta eat my hat on this one cause I fucking loooved it. especially the no mans land/village part. the sequence of shoulder checking a tank to the first use of the whip while fighting to leveling the top of that church I about lost my damn mind
Meh. Certainly more coherent and less offensive than recent DC abominations, but still plagued by a number of similar flaws. Terrible third act, wack action sequences, weird editing in spots, a telegraphed twist, etc. Having said that, Pine and Gadot were great together and she warranted the price of admission alone. Wish I liked it as much as others, but I could see a sequel do incredibly well with minor tweaks (ala winter soldier)
I've been burnt out on super hero movies but this is great. I was kinda hoping there wouldn't be a romance but it didn't bother me
