NLD today was great if you’re of the red and white persuasion. Seemed like an absolute gulf in class between the teams.

Fifth goal from Fox was absolute screamer, and nice to see Chloe Kelly back at the club.

Orlando was absolutely dominant in the first game of the NWSL season. 6-0 over Chicago.

Hate to share the Torygraph, but just example #257 of Ian Wright being one of the very best humans in football.

 

Shame more isn’t being made of the Arsenal women’s team reaching the UWCL final.

What an amazing moment it would be for the club if both the men and women’s teams could bring home the trophy!

Nobodys posting about the Euros yet? Ok, then I guess I am the first one. We had a hard time in the first half against Poland, but after the break we played convincingly and scored two goals that could have easily been four or five. A win in the first game is always important, no matter how it came to be. Now the next game against Denmark will be a bit more difficult, but with a win we'll most likely be in the ko stages already.

After the game our public broadcaster showed a documentary about the beginnings of womens football in Germany. In the west, womens football was banned up until 1970 (just like in many other countries), and even afterwards it had a hard time to be viewed as equal to the mens game.
In the east womens football was not forbidden, although there was no official league until 1968. Another example of how the east took equality between men and women more seriously compared to the west. One of the few good things about the GDR, actually.

Still don’t think England’s disallowed goal was offside, but I think the result was probably fair.

 

The writing's been on the wall since she hasn't played since 2022 but this makes me so sad. Looking forward to probably crying later when I watch the podcast episode.

 

Tbh I thought she and Press would announce it together and also tell everyone they’ve been married for years.

 

They've already been referring to each as wife on their podcast and they recently had a whole episode on their relationship but they never actually said when they got married. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out they just eloped or just a really small ceremony with their families.

 

The episode was so good but I’ll tell you what, this moment got me bad lol

 

This England vs Sweden penalty shootout is incredibly bad. Genuinely could be the worst shootout I’ve ever seen but we fucking won so who cares.

Sweden could have gone through if they scored their fifth. Their goalkeeper took it and fucking skied it. They went out lmao.
