I agree she tried to play it too and some of the reffing has been pretty bad at this WC. I'd hate to see officials decide the final or something. VAR can only get you so far if refs still make bad decisions.
This is only for penalty shootouts after extra time so no team has been affected by this rule change yet. But the rule itself needs to be changed because being a millimeter off the line does not give you any advantage and enforcing the current rule via VAR definitely does not make the game more fair.
If this is offside (and it clearly was) then she should give the free kick for Australia because there was no advantage.
I thought it was strange that the ref didn’t bring the ball back. Also, how was the foul before the final pass not a booking?
That Norwegian player that went up for the header was frozen in disbelief but she totally could have tapped that ball in
Is Sam Kerr really the best played at this World Cup like I’m supposed to believe? Is her showing tonight more of the team around her situation and not her?
Fair enough but that proves my point in me questioning how you can say that in such a matter of fact manner.
True, but I bet you don't really watch much of European football and thus cannot really judge players that play here or can compare them to her.
I haven't been able to recently with school but I actually do watch FAWSL games when I can and I keep up with what's happen with other leagues on Twitter. The French league is so lopsided because of Lyon that it's not even worth bothering trying to catch games. It just really puts me off how you try to talk down to people when you've literally never bothered commenting in this thread before this World Cup.
