I think the intention is to learn to keep your foot on the gas and not let up, to continuously look for opportunities, as when you start to relax, that's when mistakes start happening. I think once you got to 7-0 or whatever, it's unfamiliar territory at that point. Like, do you just start passing, playing keep-a-away? Do you just give Thailand the ball and decide to test your defensive skills?
This also reminds me that it's such a shame we'll probably get France v USA in the Quarterfinals when that match should definitely be a World Cup final.
that's fair - I can agree with that - it's really hard to figure out how to play the rest of the game once the score gets to absurd levels
