Excuse me, but why isn’t this called the

    movie thread?

  3. My wife have been putting on a lot of Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies to have on in the background while we're cooking, hanging out, etc. We're saving all the classic movies (movies we actually want to watch) for a little later in the month, but it's been fun watching all these cheesy Hallmark movies, haha.

  6. That one is on my watch list for this month. I don't think I've ever seen it, but I hear it's a great Christmas time movie.

So far this season I've watched:

    Happiest Season
    Elf
    Nightmare Before Christmas
    Grinch
    Charlie Brown Christmas
The Year Without a Santa Claus
Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town
    Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
    Frosty
    The Santa Clause
    Home Alone
    Home Alone 2
    Christmas Vacation
    Scrooged

I think we'll rewatch Just Friends next, it's been a while. I've also been meaning to finally check out The Night Before. And of course we'll be watching A Christmas Story tomorrow :-p

Watched Elf for the first time this week with my wife and oldest.... that was fun.

Then tonight we watched Prancer. My oldest and I have never seen that before... that was a cute movie.

Have Iron Man 3 on now, had Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on before it.

Last Christmas is a fun one I rewatched recently, too.

Home alone 1 and 2, Christmas vacation are musts. The night before is fun and office Christmas party wasn’t bad. Elf is fine but I hate the grinch with Jim Carrey.

  16. The Jim Carrey Grinch kills me every time. Maybe it’s mostly nostalgia, but it still cracks me up.

  17. My wife and I watched that for the first time a few days ago. At this time last year, we were on our honeymoon in London so we recognized a bunch of spots in the movie, which was fun.

The Jim Carrey Grinch genuinely creeped me out as a kid lol I need to give it another chance as an adult

Jim Carrey as the grinch just does nothing for me and the movie it 45 minutes too long.

Yeah, stretching a beloved 25 minute story into a 2 hour film tends to be a recipe for disaster

Every year growing up my parents would throw a Christmas Eve party and all the kids would end up putting on Love Actually and without someone’s parents would always walk in during one of the nude/sex scenes. So it holds a strange place in my heart.

And yes, the Jim Carrey grinch is really bad. It feels like they tried to merge a Tim Burton movie with Dr Suess and it’s just creepy and off putting.

The live action Cat in the Hat creeped me out too.
