If season 1 is ending where I think it's ending season 2 is going to be fantastic Westhead as head coach retracting on McKinney's fast pace offence in favor of a more traditional offense that focuses on Kareem, Magic then playing politics to get him fired and replaced with Pat Riley.

 

we still have five episodes left and the finale is titled Promised Land. I imagine we see the first tile this season but i agree the riley/westhead dynamic will probably be the main plot driver

 

Yeah it's sounding like season 1 is going to end with Westhead leading the Showtime era Lakers to the championship in the 1980-1981 season. Season 2 will likely be the 1981-1982 season where Riley finally becomes head coach after Westhead gets fired and leads them to another championship using his own version of the McKinney offense.

Time for like Paula Abdul to do the funniest thing ever and say it's all true

 

I get both sides of this but at the same time we are getting both a Magic and Jeannie Buss documentary that both are involved with. I mean even the MJ documentary changed or smoothed stuff over and didn't clearly address everything because Michael was involved in it. Like we live in this world now where people are making their own "autobiographical" documentaries and watering them down to make themselves look better. This show does not pretend to be a documentary and even though I hate that they have played with the timeline of actual games and what took place on the basketball court (to some extent), that also shows that this is not meant to be correct to history.

 

Overall, I enjoyed this and it got better as it went on, but I think I’m good with one season.

Quincy Isaiah was fantastic as Magic. I’m looking forward to seeing where his career goes.

Jerry West was probably my favorite character on this show. Every time he was on screen was hilarious

Also, John C Reiley's hair in the aftershow interview was out of control

 

Brody is gonna kill it when he becomes slicked-back hair Pat

 

Yeah give me all the seasons. Such a fun show. Give me a Jerry West spin-off of him getting pissed at mundane things.

 

They could easily do a spin-off about like the 96 Bulls including Space Jam

Season 2 premieres tonight

 

I had to look up the timeline of this season, and It Is going to take place between 1980 and 1984. So I am assuming this will end with the Lakers losing to the Celtics 4 - 3 in the 1984 NBA Finals. Season 3 likely be about them finally beating the Celtics in the finals in 1985.


I hope the last season will move past their rivalry with the Celtics and get into their late 80's rivalry Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boys era Detroit Pistons.

Wasn't too crazy about the first episode but loved episode 2
