Liked this a lot. Totally agree with @a nice person, this DID kind of feel like a True Detective S1 episode. What an apt comparison.

 

I'm seeing this on Friday.

 

Great film. Solid B+

Renner's performance had some really strong moments. It was good to see him in a role like this again.

My only issue was: I didn't care for the way that Renner's character's daughter died in such a similar way to Natalie. It really wasn't necessary, and didn't seem believable. If this device is to be used, why not have some kind of payoff where it's discovered that the security team was involved with his daughters murder, or something along those lines. It just seemed like a pointless plot device.
Really loved the final scene. Great dialog throughout.

 

This was so good, maybe one of the best movies of the summer if not the entire year

Ya pretty much agreed with everyone in this thread. This was great. Taylor Sheridan looks to be the real deal.

This is on Netflix now to those that didn’t get a chance to see it yet or want a re-watch. This is still a top 3 movie from 2017 for me.

 

Incredible film. Though it’s kind of difficult to watch more than a few times.

 

Decided to watch this last night. Thought it was fantastic. The third Olsen is the most talented of the Olsens, for sure.

 

Agreed. I had only ever seen her in the Marvel films with her bad accent, but she was good in this one.

 

i have actually only seen her in non-marvel films, ha - i think the only one of these new dc/marvel films i've seen is batman vs superman

 

Thanks for the heads up this was now on Netflix. Been wanting to see it. Just watched it and I really enjoyed it. Not sure why Jeremy Renner’s charcter had to be a white male though. Could they not have gotten a Native American actor for that character?

Also, it was really hard to hear some of the dialogue.

 

Watched this again last night and it’s still one of my favorite films from last year. Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye really have a great chemistry on screen.

 

Fantastic film; that hospital scene near the end was done perfectly. Great music too

 

I feel like this ended up being a better Hold The Dark movie than Hold The Dark.

 

damn, Hold The Dark was such a disappointment. the book isn't a masterpiece by any stretch but definitely expect more from Saulnier and Blair

 

Not sure why they felt this needed a sequel but whatever.

Yeah a sequel is absolutely not necessary for this, especially with Sheridan not involved

 

It’s just a Yellowstone cash in I’m sure.
