I thought his two self releases (like Wretched Heart) would be like his new stuff, mixed with Field and Fences and In Time. That vein.
Nice. Really wanted to hear this. It’s still patient and pretty, and it’s cool to hear anreimaginaing of a Yellowcard song.
That was my initial reaction too, but I am having trouble seeing exactly where he "fits" I guess. Is he just going to play guitar? Him singing would change the fabric of NFG totally. I dunno, we will find out in time I suppose!
Yeah I think there would definitely need to be a balancing act, since he was a frontman of his own band. It'd be cool to see him just play guitar/keys and sing some backups/harmonies. Or maybe on future albums have him sing a verse or something like how they had Sean sing on Twenty Three.
Yeah, I imagine that would be the fabric. But as you said, even the thought of him joining permanently is kind of crazy. And awesome.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, it would make me regain some interest in NFG and it would be cool if it was more than just a 2nd guitar/vocal harmony role. On the other hand, I kind of thought Ryan had left the whole pop-punk scene behind and was focused on his more acoustic/experimental solo stuff, which I've really enjoyed so far. I think I'd rather see him work on that, although maybe he can do both.
I mean, it would be cool in like a novelty way, but I would feel bad for Ryan going from fronting a huge band to being a guitarist in a band that was always their equal
I’d rather have Ryan doing Ryan things, but if he bounced back and forth between doing NFG stuff and Ryan/solo other band stuff I’d be happy with that. NFG can b a little silly at times. If they did another Coming Home kinda album that’d be huge. Share some vocal duties.
Holy sh*t, this is huge for Ryan. Awesome. I'd be willing to bet his set isn't all acoustic here. But i'm no expert
