Neither of the new songs have resonated with me, but I'm glad he's still making music & doing what he wants
Same here. I will always support his work and the song is not bad my any means, but this genre just isn't my thing.
These feel like remixes to me because I can imagine what they’d sound like full band or acoustic. I think once any or ep is out it’ll be nice to hear these songs in sequence. Although I don’t mind electronic elements, I am not an electronic dance music guy at all. Happy that WRK is getting to explore whatever music style he wants though. I get with a lockdown starting a full band might not be easy and he’s trying to not deal with the baggage of certain vocal stylings. I still feel like there is a different version of this song I’ve heard
I agree with this. It’s cool to see him exploring and having the freedom to write whatever he damn well pleases. He has proven to be an amazingly talented artist. I think personally though, i’ve just realized over time that this super ambient/electronic stuff just doesn’t do it for me. It’s nice to have on in the background, but it’s the acoustic guitar, band, even folksy stuff that really grabs me. There’s an interesting world that he was exploring with the sort of folksy acoustic stuff, even some americana rooted sounds (Vultures, Wrecking Ball, etc) that I hope he goes into further one day! Time will tell, here to support it no matter what though.
Glad I’m not alone in feeling this way. He’s got a lot of styles he’s always done well. I hope he keeps the variety going.
Yeah, not into it, but glad he's still making music. Only 341 views and 12 subscribers. That can't be too encouraging.
I wonder if the EP and eventual albums will follow different paths. I thought Jedha would be more electronic and WRK a little more acoustic/with electronic elements.
