Need a Hangover Game / Eating the Egg Whole medley with like 15 ppl on stage at once to close out every date of the MJ/Wild Pink tour
I've listened to this 2 more times I think I'm understanding my initial reaction more. The last 3 songs on it are my least favorite and Rung Cold is my least favorite of all of the songs. So when I finish the album my view of it is more negative than it should be because I just heard my least favorite song. I really like a lot of the songs on here and the album is growing on me.
He’s one of the absolute best writers doing it at the moment Belly down in the mud at dawn Every day ring your hands raw Drudge through it all somehow You look dead when you sleep now Stability changed your perspective You’re meaner now, no longer introspective But I still got a picture of you in an O’s hat On your birthday on the Chesapeake Bay There’s a break in your heart And if you can’t get along with it You gotta just get on with it
I think this might be their best. Which is saying something. It pairs really well with A Billion Little Lights. Even though Yolk in the Fur could actually be my favorite. We’re ranking…my initial thoughts are 1. Dulling the Horns 2. Yolk in the Fur 3. A Billion Little Lights 4. ILYSM 5. Wild Pink
it's crazy how many of their best songs are just chillin on EPs or one-off singles. I'm obsessed with Leferever atm
I totally agree I went for a walk after work today with my headphones on - it was a gorgeous, autumnal British day and when that slide solo at the end of St.Catherine St kicked in I couldn't help but crack a huge smile Excited to see them live next week
Did this go out in your newsletter or on Chorus and I missed it? Otherwise looking forward to whenever life gives you the time to release it!
Dragged my feet on listening to this one but loving it! Reminds me of A Billion Little Lights (second favourite album of that year) in the way that it is locked into a niche sound for around 40 minutes and every song hits, such a fun and easy listen. ILSYM didn't really work for me, I LOVED about half that record (the first few tracks, the last few tracks) but the group of slow quiet songs in the middle always grinded a listen to a halt. I can feel a whole discography binge coming on regardless haha
