They aren’t special but i like the accessibility of them. He’s just laying it out there in a way that feels candid yet heartfelt, not swathed in metaphor. That ancient slime line is a bit weird but I dig how universal and simple most of the lyrics feel.
“I wonder how different some days go” is a good, ambiguous line... unless you are trying to read it like a third grader would. Dig a little deeper.
I actually really like his lyrics on the debut album very specific & direct sometimes but spot on “hey put yr phone down”
