I was looking for the thread that was titled something along the lines of "I've been meaning to listen to X, where do I begin" but I couldn't find it. Maybe it's not on Chorus yet? Anyway, not to hijack the thread but if I've never listened to this band, which album is a good start?

 

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot probably.

I started with Sky Blue Sky and loved it but not everyone will agree with that.

at least listen to Impossible Germany, that song is like the essence of wilco to me.

 

I also started with Sky Blue Sky, but yeah, that's a little more straightforward and YHF really shows off a band hitting their experimental stride.

 

Just got back from a listen party thing, album was really solid on first listen and I picked up the vinyl. Excited to dig more into it, definitely feels like the calmer pairing of Star Wars, experimental in a different direction. Common Sense fucked me up tho

 

picked up the pink LP today, have really been enjoying this.

 

Same. This is growing on me, even if I still think it's fairly run-of-the-mill (for a Wilco record).

Went into it thinking it was gonna sound super phoned-in but critically acclaimed anyways, and I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this!

 

Liking it more and more, the vibes are very strong in this one

 

this is gonna be great to walk home to as the weather gets colder

"someone to lose" could totally be a modest mouse track

 

i cannot believe they used a Joan Cornellà comic for the artwork. so awesome.

 

Haven't had a chance to listen yet, planning on it tomorrow though! Still love Star Wars so I'm excited for this

 

Agreed that it's run of the mill, yet enjoyable- almost like a better version of Sky Blue Sky. I'm betting this will be a great album to put on a crisp fall morning while you drink your coffee

I prefer Sky Blue Sky but yeah this sounds about right

 

A bunch of songs on this lowkey sound like Modest Mouse/Ugly Casanova tracks, haha. I think it's because Tweedy's whisper-vocals sound similar to Brock's, especially on the singles

 

ur crazy if u like Sky Blue Sky less than this

 

this is fine, not my favorite by them by any means but not bad either
