it’s excellent - to me it’s far and away their best in a decade, surprised me more people didn’t feel that way

 

I thought Schmilco and Star Wars were pretty unlistenable and there was one other one around the same time period that was bad too

schmilco is so pleasant “unlistenable” is a strange way to describe it even if it’s not your favorite. and ode to joy is great.

 

star wars is a top 5 wilco record

 

like star wars a lot - im not big on Schmilco but ode to joy kicks all the ass. CC has its moments but its too long and same paced that I get lost in it which I know is not a common opinion.

 

schmilco is so fucking good and i recommend people listen to it more (for one thing, it's not entirely pleasant)

I haven't really loved a full Wilco album since at least the Whole Love, but probably Wilco (The album) really. Every album since then though definitely have at least some songs I really dig, and I think Ode to Joy is pretty great overall and Cruel Country has some good songs too, I just don't love when the band settles into it's more "country"-leaning identity. While I don't love every song on it, I love how deranged Star Wars is. Anyway, the first two singles from this new album rule and I'm excited to hear the rest of it.

summerteeth is my favourite. I'm Always in Love and Shot in the Arm are two of the best songs ever

 

Love to see all the high ranks for Sky Blue Sky. Adore that one

 

I can’t imagine ranking AM near the bottom though

 

it's a good record, but feels like a different band to me, idk. i never reach for it when i want to listen to wilco

 

Sky Blue Sky might be my favorite Wilco album.

I just think the combination of the album title and the album art rule so hard

Cousin, with some sort of weird alien plant straight out of Annihilation. Love it

also Evicted is the exact sort of music I love as I approach my 40s
