Weirdly this has kinda grown off me over the last few episodes. The humour is much more effective than the horror, which seems to be exclusively of the "barely remixing tropes" variety, and the more lore we uncover the less interesting the setting feels.
Finally started this the other night, and only on episode 3, but I love Patricia. Such a funny character. Matthew Rhys' character is great too. He plays the role perfectly imo.
Definitely a build up to the finale but I enjoyed it still, even if a bit of a lull. Wouldn't have minded one longer episode here at the end instead of another 30-40 min ep.
I agree that the EP was a bit weak but at this point I am so invested in the characters I don't really mind another "hangout episode", especially since the story implications were quite interesting. That said this is one of those times where I would've appreciated having both episodes available immediately.
Totally thought up until this last episode that the son would turn out to be a descendant through the mother, so I was surprised that we're going a different route entirely.
That was also my thought. Then at the last minute I thought it was going to be Wyck so I was foiled twice.
I suppose one more twist is that Ruth, whether knowingly or unknowingly, is the mother/grandmother of Evan's mother.
I’m assuming there has to be a little more to it than it ending with Ruth bc then the show just ends lol
