WHY? Band

Why? (styled as WHY?) is an American alternative hip hop and indie rock band. The band was founded in 2004 by Berkeley, California artist Jonathan "Yoni" Wolf, who had been using 'Why?' as his stage name since 1997.

Anyways, Why? is one of my favorite artists and Yoni is my favorite lyricist other than Aaron Weiss.

 

didn't care much for the release he did with geti but i will always look forward to a new why album

Any cLOUDDEAD fans here? I love their album Ten.

 

I don't know clouddead but they had something to do with this gem.

 

one of few bands ive paid to see perform live twice.

 

I've seen them once and they sounded absolutely phenomenal. Been waiting for them to come through again ever since.

 

love the compilation - such a cool, ambient vibe, insane lyrics... could never get really into TEN for some reason

as to WHY? - love Alopecia and Testarrossa was pretty good at some points - will spin it more

how about Subtle? fh:ff is a masterpiece to me

Absolutely love both episodes of Weiss on that podcast. I've listened to them multiple times.

 

alopecia is such a perfect album but unfortunately they have fell off my radar for a good time since then. maybe a new release will rekindle my appreciation for them.

 

they were in studio a few months back iirc. pretty sure they were also recently posting on fb about having masters done

tight. mumps etc was super underrated too imo

 

Mumps Etc... is fantastic.

Paper Hearts is one of their best songs ever, imo

Alopecia is good

but

it has 2 tracks in particular that make me feel a certian way - unexpected for this "style" of music
