an overprotective father ( Bryan Cranston) panics when he learns that his daughter's ( Zoey Deutch ) socially awkward boyfriend ( James Franco) is planning to propose Also starring Megan Mullaly,Keegan Michael Key, Andrew Rannells,Casey Wilson
Incredibly tired plot but this is more about the lead actors anyway. Love Cranston, Franco is fine. Think this was written/directed by the guy who did I Love You Man (a favorite of mine) so I'll give this a shot.
This looks really bad. Didn't find anything remotely funny in this. Hell I was getting tired of Cranston's reactions to Franco's character's high-jinx 30 seconds in. Roll eyes, shrug shoulders, queue the laugh track.
Yeah, we've seen this plot a thousand times but still I love the cast and thought the trailer had some chuckles. Count me in
Trailer seemed choppy and repetitive. Clearly still in post, but still, I agree - there are like 3 separate reaction shots that look nearly identical in a 2 minute trailer...
I will be seeing this next discount tuesday haha. Got a good friend with a solid taste for James Franco and trash comedies
Tried to see Rogue One today but it was sold out so I decided to see this and I was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely not the funniest or most original movie ever, or even of the year, but it was a very enjoyable way to spend my afternoon. Franco is really funny the whole movie, Key is great as always, Cranston is game for anything, and Megan Mullaly and Zoey Deutch are underused but still good. I definitely don't regret seeing this, it's a very solid comedy.
Yeah idk. This was fine, and I've only ever been able to tolerate Franco in small doses beyond Pineapple Express. I intend on seeing it again.
I don't see how you could dislike Franco and like this movie. He was at his most intolerable in this. His character is so over the top and unrealistic it's insane.
Yeah you're probably right. It doesn't make a lot of sense. Still enjoyed it, maybe it was a good theater experience. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
